I have my camera like this. The 700d is smaller and much lighter than the double-digit Canons. 200g make a mountain hike already made some.
The 700d has everything I care about: large rotatable display, 9 cross-type sensors for auto focus, continuous shutter and higher usage rate than the 400d, greater exposure accuracy and spot metering.
If the 70d likely appear in the second half of 2013, it will probably be twice as expensive as the 700d.
A sealed body and higher quality housing I do not need because I gently Bypass with my things and anyway do not own sealed lenses.
The case of the 700d makes a solid and well-made impression. All keys are smooth and have a tactile feedback. However, they seem sometimes a bit "shaky". Even when rotating the main dial, you realize that it is a "plastic" -Body. I can not describe it exactly, but it sounds a bit "shaky" at. The functions of dial and buttons are however properly.
The camera is fast - much faster than my old EOS 400D. Initial tests with original Canon fixed focal length 50mm and 17-85mm zoom arise beautiful images with excellent sharpness. Because for me there is nothing to complain about. In the menu there are already for some Canon lenses correction data for vignetting and chromatic aberration - very nice!
I particularly like and that the camera's menu already provides for the use of a Wi-Fi card and the GPS module. In a sort of "Favorites" menu, you can define up to six entries with functions that you need very often. Oddly enough, but I find it not all the options that were important to me. For this example, includes the choice of AF control.
The image transfer via USB on my laptop works to classes faster than the 400D - a real boon. Possibly the used by me extremely fast SanDisk Extreme Pro - card but not quite innocent of the high performance.
Opposite the Digic II - processor 700d of a speed miracle - the processor 400d of the Digic V. The display has a high resolution so that you can easily assess the sharpness of an image shot on the spot. The modern touch-screen control makes me happy and it works fast and flawlessly. They can turn off when necessary as well.
My first conclusion: the camera is worth the money and also as an advanced amateur photographer who has already possessed many SLRs in his life, the 700d will give me a lot of joy - which I'm sure :-)
