I initially had concerns, but because it takes relatively many negative reports in various forums on the Lenovo Helix. These relate mainly to problems with the touch screen and the loud fan, but are sometimes also quite old.
This equipment has been lt. Carton stickers made in December 2014 has the latest BIOS and in contrast to the "recent" version, a 128 GB SSD. Since Amazon indicates not quite correct data here, I complete only once the technical specifications for this device:

Compared to many, some more expensive convertibles that Helix offers some of the things I like. The performance is compared to my P2214T with eMMC Atom processor and significantly faster. Unfortunately, only about 70 GB of the 128 GB remain after recovery partition etc. left. Not much really. Here equal to a tip on how you can release additional about 12 GB! Simply "Restore ..." into the Windows search, and then select the option "Create Recovery Disk" and then you can copy the 12 GB partition on a USB stick and release the partition. So you get valuable, additional memory shoveled!
The WLAN quality is very good, the reception at home even far away from the router is still very good. That is where my previous laptop or my Samsung Galaxy S4 to give up, I have at least. 20 to 40% signal strength, as good as with my P2214T which even dominates the AC standard. UMTS also works quickly, but of course only makes sense with a data plan. The digitizer works more accurate and better than 10 with the Acer Acer Switch When I had the digitizer is unacceptable, but here it's really just like writing on paper and better than I expected.
A card reader is missing. In Medion P2214T Although a is installed, but dominates only USB 2.0 and is thus not quick enough in fast cards from Class 10. So I'll have to get a USB 3.0 card reader me what I am but ultimately have more than from an integrated card reader which just creates USB 2.0 speed.
Before working with the device that about 3.6 GB on Windows Update should be carried out 8.1 per definitely. I had first namely also the problem if I had used the pen that then the touch screen no longer worked properly when I used it with my fingers. This and other problems were gone after the update.
The fan can be heard, particularly in the operation with Tastaturdock. There are 2 fans, a third are in the tablet. If one uses only the tablet, this governs down the power so that the tablet fan is barely audible. I have TP Fan Control, a freeware tool installed. This allows the fan to regulate well, so it is very quiet in operation with keyboard. But with the latest BIOS, the fan is relatively quiet so already, if you play only surfs and no graphics-intensive games.
The build quality is beyond doubt. The keyboard does not yield as in Medion P2214T. The touchpad and the red trackpoint, which serves as a mouse replacement, are absolutely pleasant to use. That was the point where I realized that I return the ALDI device again. The Dockmechanismus is similar to that of Medion, but here you can put the tablet upside down and close it again so and use the device with keyboard and tablet. It is then indeed more difficult, but on the train or bus, I find the practice, because you can then place it on your lap. The opening angle is 115 degrees is not very large, which was also criticized. But if one is not working while standing in front of it, that's no problem because of the very good viewing angle.
The display I was particularly surprised. After the Medion showed even after conversion even slight ghosting, nothing thereof to detect the Lenovo Helix. I hope it stays that way, but do not want to conceal the fact that you can also find this report, but do not let the number to connect to a continuous problem. The colors are reproduced faithfully and contrasty.
I could install Ubuntu 14:10 on the Helix and it works so far only once much out of the box, which I will still continue to test and supplement as needed here. The great advantage of the Helix is that you have a full BIOS and not as with other devices (Medion), finds no settings in the BIOS.
Conclusion:
Despite some reviews I do not regret the purchase. Compared to many, more expensive devices, the Lenovo Helix provides a whole lot: a brisk Core i5, albeit "only" 3rd generation, a fast SSD with SATA 3, GPS, UMTS, a very bright display, 2 normal USB 3.0 and 1 normal USB 2.0 port (thus no micro or mini USB) and 2 high quality Mini DisplayPort interfaces. Even in the current price I think the Lenovo Helix for a good deal and would recommend it unreservedly.
