I use the Garmin Forerunner 305 for 2 months now and I am very satisfied. Neither practicing bike or swimming, I judge here as device capabilities for running. Most: - Ease of programming via the Garmin Training Center software to install on the PC. We quickly his training program, fractionated or not, whatever their objective. Lots of possible calculations, time objectives / speed, speed / distance, etc ... - The cardiovascular function is very reliable. The indications are clearly readable on the screen. - Fully customizable display of 3 different screens (I personally love). - Ability to track time réèl distance (so quite accurate, eg on a 10km: 9.96km to the counter!), Speed (yeah, I would return), average speed (good indication), frequency Cardiac (bpm or%), calories, etc ... Cons: - The calculation of the instantaneous speed: forget the city speed function, the height of buildings and narrow streets prevent proper GPS signal reception because of the sensitivity is fairly limited. I am Parisian and indications are rather fanciful (I spend blithely 11mn23 / km 3min31 / km, without changing it completely !!!) However, in open ground or in the country, no problem, the indications are quite reliable and stable. - It takes him almost 10min to "hang" the city in satellite signal and a good 5 minutes in the countryside. This is not very serious but it's pretty frustrating. - The device is very impressive and is really not discreet wrist. Moreover, I find it quite uncomfortable after a while.
Despite these negative points, they crushed all competition in its price class. I am very satisfied and it responds very well to my needs for effective training on long and medium distances. Its programming possibilities are almost endless and include the multi-screen display complete information needed to keep control of his race.
