The interior of the lights is done relatively quickly by app. However, the Wemo Link has once pulled an update for me. We use also 2 Wemo outlets that are controlled via the same app. The two lamps I have used in our 2 outdoor lights and by generally programmed in the app so that they are turned on at sunset and off at sunrise. The lamps (or app) memorize the preset dimming. Per app you can also define additional rules. This works quite well so far, with a corresponding activation via the Internet from anywhere in the world.
Now to the security problem: When I had to wait in my car repair shop with a cup of coffee on the Master A couple days ago, I wanted to briefly check the status of my sockets / lamps at home. To my surprise, the number of switchable consumers suddenly had multiplied. In addition to my two lamps and the socket (top floor, rear lamp, Lamp Front), there was suddenly a fountain, a Donald Light, a space heater greenhouses and other diverse consumer (but you do not see on the screenshot). All left turn also. Even when I was later in the 15 km from the office, I had full access and were well and Donald Light arbitrarily turn on / off (the heater I pinched myself to endanger anyone). Apparently, the app automatically searches all available Wemo devices within and then also has full access. I find quite disturbing! At the Wemo users with the fountains and the light from Donald biesdorf: if you read this, then try times better protect your network !!
Conclusion: if I had to choose a system I would probably grab hue rather to Philips. That is approximately equal to the price, but it offers a much larger selection of lamps and through the open interface you can also use a variety of third-party developers App`s and in my opinion is also safer. For someone who already uses the Wemo sockets and can live with the limited choice of lamps of this set, however, is also a viable alternative when building a secure network according ;-)
Update 04/29/2015: I have to unfortunately pull another star because the dimming for a few days is always at 100%, now I do not know if it's because I'm about 1600 km away on vacation or if it the last software update was deteriorated. At least the remote control of Donald lamp and the fountain of the unknown user from Belkin biesdorf work from my hotel in Mallorca without problems ;-)
Since Amazon the photographic evidence of the unauthorized access recently blocked, I need to delete it, unfortunately, so that the review at all appear.
