I can only connect my speakers me actually. what promises device also makes it - and very good even. the is no 24p output, so not true. both on the packaging as well as on the manufacturer's website is the following note: "MPEG2 / 4, H.264, and WMV9 supports up to 1920x1080p 24fps". I tested various Trailer and HD test clips in 720p and 1080p (mov & WMV9) and all were easily played smoothly and in the desired quality.
The device has two USB ports, which is enough in itself. The trouble is that a USB port is located very close to the HDMI port. who has a thicker USB stick and the unit operates via HDMI, could possibly get problems. Here are some pros and cons (the contra-points do not bother me really, I call them just for completeness)
+ Issue of MPEG2 / 4, H.264 and WMV9 up to 1080p / 24fps
+ Supports MKV format
+ Subtitle SRT (UTF-8)
+ Simple and intuitive menu
+ Very good price
+ 2 x USB ports
+ Silently (YES!)
+ External 2.5 "hard drives via USB get enough power (which is not necessarily self-evident)
+5 Various USB sticks (brands) were easily detected
- No YUV (only HDMI and composite)
- No LAN / WLAN
- Small but simple remote control (maybe not suitable for large hands)
who is currently planning such a purchase, the unit should definitely look at it. I personally am very happy with it.
