A few months ago I made first acquaintance with the guard of Philips shavers, which I (apolitical) previously gave as decades of "Brauner" no attention. As the prejudice is so often: the reality is often different. I was positive impressed by the legendary Philips principle of rotating shear blades and have the time also acknowledged candidly in my review (Philips RQ1175 / 16 SensoTouch wet and dry electric shaver).
Spoilt for choice
Similar to the manufacturer Braun also offers the Dutch competition now so many parallel product lines of its rotary shaver that unsuspecting layman almost has to be lucky to ever meet his personal favorites in life. This manual is accompanied by design, no doubt to the traditional camp. My first-device (see above) is reminiscent of a turquoise wasp with respectable waist and three lowered insect eyes. The present Power Touch Edition features a handy thumb wedge shape and, therefore, actually is more like a tool for men.
The car wash
This is indeed a mighty block that the customer gets delivered there. In it, you can use the apparatus after shaving latch (only without shaving head cover!) And of course charge - if you find for a suitable place for this equipment in the bathroom. The main purpose of the plant is of course not the loading or stowing, but the wet cleaning. This basically works flawlessly and takes about eight minutes where you can take care of more important things in life - even though: the very first time you will watch spellbound! During this time, rises and falls of the shaver into the liquid and a few times to turn on the three rotors. So far so good. But draining the cleaner seems plenty of awkward and hakelig, the entire station must be removed upwards. It says: watch out! Quick tilts the container with the cleaner and falls over. I'll be honest: Much faster, more precise and sovereign done that the bearded man with his bare hands.
Attributes at a glance
+ Clean workmanship and attractive design, in spite of a lot of plastic (but no razor is built to last!)
+ Made in Holland
+ Very handy adapter that can be plugged directly into the shaver. The washing machine can stay while traveling at home!
+ Battery and mains operation (via the charger cable)
+ Lightweight and grippy, non-slip thumb litter with grooves
+ Very quiet, purring sound
+ For dry shaving very good result when the razor is moved in circles and with light pressure over the beard area.
+ Very good battery: fast charged (approx. 1 hour) and lasts for more than 1 hour of continuous operation (ie at "normal" use for about 2 weeks)
+ No irritation or irritations lockable
+ Easy to clean by rinsing under running water
+ For incoming cleaning or replacement part installation of the entire shaving head can be removed and disassembled into its component parts. The assembly is not really problematic.
o Detailed arms display the remaining battery power with just one LED (white / orange)
o cost (device + cleaner) and benefits or need the car wash are available for me in an unhealthy relationship: so what does not need man!
o The trimmer is rather narrow and has against the brown-competition no chance
- The Bart match between upper lip and nose is not convincing manageable with the voluminous shaving head. This is in principle to modify the schedule and barely.
Summary
If you leave like to wash (car, laundry, dishes, etc.), you have won in any case! If you were frugal educated and bring personal items like sometimes in-house in order, then you can look forward to even more: on the powerful razor and money savings - because of course you choose wisely for the variant without washboard: Philips PT920 / 18 Shaver PowerTouch Pro.
