The solution: "extend" the Internet connection from the basement to the ground floor and the 1st floor with the Devolo powerline adapters. At least, for years the solution - from the old 85er adapters up to the 200s. The last time I had four 200 Adapter in use: 3 pure LAN adapter dLAN 200 AV easy and a 200 AV Wireless G for the WLAN connection. Worked wonderfully, but I thought it's time to upgrade to the latest generation to be even faster.
So I created the dLAN 500 AV Wireless + Starter Kit ordered than the current top model.
Delivery very fast, easy installation usual: Old 200 adapter out, each of the new 500 Adapter pure, configured, ready. Ran only wonderful: The speed noticeably faster than my old 200 devolo adapters. Although 500 MBit are not achieved, but I did not expect.
In short: At first I was excited.
But the very next day has the WLAN made problems: All the time disconnections! I looked up again, the configuration, try different channels and different outlets - has brought nothing. The problems occurred on different PCs and smartphones - and for wireless, LAN connection was stable and fast. Firmware I have checked: Throughout the most recent plan. I was at a loss, especially since my old 200er devolo network using the same equipment and the same outlets worked perfectly.
In the next few days I was able to isolate the problem and came to the following: The disconnections occurred whenever my daughter with their smartphone (a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S) has logged on the Devolo wireless adapter into the WLAN. If she was not logged in, everything worked wonderfully - Laptop, PC, two smartphones, everything stable, fast, well. But as soon as the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S has logged went off again: disconnections! Unfortunately. Either the adapter was defective or technically mature.
Anyway: The support of Devolo has reported this after 5 days. It was said that the wireless adapter is probably defective. But even after exchange: The same problems. Also an update to the latest firmware of the mobile phones has brought nothing - the wireless adapters from devolo I could not update because no newer firmware is currently available.
Since I had enough of the new technology: I have the whole thing sent back (rescission was as always easily and efficiently) and went back to my old, slightly slower but stable current devolo 200 adapters.
Too bad!
PS: My house and my wiring is a new building, and I have the power to be laid by an electrician on one and the same phase.
