I must say that for me the hobby "Photography" not only when editing or should watch the images begins (good picture quality I put in so-called "noble compact" forward), but already while photographing himself. I have feel and operation of a camera extremely important, yes, the camera must amuse me. In this respect, this is where my review and not just in the technical qualities. The herein described at some length and well.
So, starting in the wholesale market for detailed "begrabbeln". After the first personal meeting was an ever out: the Sony RXIII. Others may buy this camera because of their smallness, I could so you do not get anything positive. Too small, too fiddly. Nothing for me.
As a second I had the LX100 in hand. Not bad as far. I like the classic operation using aperture ring and shutter speed dial. Which unfortunately does not fit to is that the zoom is manually virtually unusable. It boosts NEN Wolf, you want to shimmy manually by the focal lengths. Another minus point for me is the lack of folding screen. The feel of Pana, well. Ok. No more, no less. Not necessarily cheap, but wertig feels different. Definitely worse than the Sony.
As a third party was the X30's turn. The "cheapest" of the bunch is a tall order for ne "Compact". When I took the X30 in my hand, I'm terrified. In a positive sense. It has really a camera in hand. Nice weight, never too light nor too heavy. The feel is a pleasure. No plastic feel very valuable, the keystroke is clean, the rotary rings raced clear, the zoom can be operated manually and drives wonderfully satisfied by the focal lengths. Even an aperture ring there (the control ring on the zoom lens is factory-filled with the iris adjustment. If you do not want, can the ring with other functions to attend). A little falls the little Plastiksteuerrad out of this total value, which should be mentioned for completeness.
The Fuji again briefly put aside and taken the LX100 in the hand. If I had not have done (or at least ....), because now the Pana was out. When it comes to haptics the Pana ne class is worse than the Fuji. My perception.
Quick back to Fuji in the hand ..... and .... yes, it is! My new Compact. For 3 weeks I am now the happy owner of a silver X30 and Fuji has accompanied me on several tours. I guess the camera more and more.
But a few "technical" comments from my practical experience with the X30
- Next to the configurable control ring, has the X30 six individually programmable Fn keys. Add to this that one can prove the Quick Menu on your taste. All important functions are thus selected directly, a descent into the depths of the menus in everyday life no longer necessary.
- The gauge of Fuji is 2/3 "Although the smallest of the trio, but sensor and zoom harmonize beautifully even at full aperture, all focal lengths sharp right into the corners..
- Up to ISO 800 the image quality is really good, about to be's clear to my taste.
- I love to take pictures with Auto ISO max 800, but it is advisable to provide in-camera noise reduction (NR) to -2.
- The AF is quick and accurate. The light conditions must already be very mau, so the autofocus gets problems. I once had the Canon 5DMKII which could in no way better ....
- It adheres so stubbornly history, Lightroom would have difficulty with the Fuji X-Trans sensor. Mag times have been so, Lightroom 5.7 jendenfalls the X30 support - RAWs well. There are no difficulties (oh yes, I shoot RAW + JPEG ALWAYS, JPEGs of Fuji are indeed great, but sometimes RAW makes sense but then .... :-)
- The Fuji colors are simply a dream ....... I prefer photographing currently with the new Classic Chrome.
Conclusion: If you're looking great image quality and who smallness is not everything, you should definitely take the Fuji X30 at least once in the hand. And best compare ....
