Use the lens hood to my "telephoto" lens Canon 55-250 STM in conjunction with a Canon EOS 70D. The lens hood is very well made (no sharp edges) and above all, very precisely on the lens. After tightening and locking no play can be felt. When not in use or transport the lens hood 180 degrees (vertical axis) can be rotated are placed on lens: very practical!
