Now my own concrete experiences.
- The device is relatively large and heavy
- The design is compact, the printer can fit well
- Building no problem, description of the manufacturer is clear
- Installation of the driver (PCL6 and PS3) is easy
- You can get started right away
- Already with the first proofs I am fully satisfied
- The printer is not Leisetreter, no infernal machine
- The PDF manual is detailed and accurate
I use the printer now since about 2 weeks, the first good impression was confirmed. A few additions and notes.
Foil printing: printing film is not described in the manual. One Board member said, films are not explicitly approved by Brother as printing material. This will print only as a reference for people who films.
Color print quality: reviews certify the printer weaknesses in color printing. I do not cast doubt on this, but I can not see any Mägnel at own proofs in high resolution. I am very pleased.
Cartridge replacement and page counters: For this I refer regarding the details to the manual.. The main message: a toner cartridge is not empty needed if the meter is full. You can set the counter back!
Memory Expansion: The printer comes with 128MB. More 256MB can buy more favorable. No Problem.
Energy consumption: allegedly the printer is an energy saver. I did not measure. However, the printer has a standby mode in which it is practically 'seemingly dead', but starts immediately if necessary. My habit is but disable devices when I I do not use.
So much for my experiences. For me, the printer is a clear recommendation. I hope the report will help!
