There is a distinct difference in the maximum display brightness. The A510 from is much brighter and therefore to be regarded as better.
While it does not solve in HD on - but on this display size, the difference in practice is not as clearly seen.
Also, there are marked differences in the color temperature:
The A510 is "cool" - I would say something more natural.
The A700 is not so color fidelity - some "soft / warmer" colors shifted slightly in the yellow-reddish area.
Both displays have a good viewing angle. Even from an angle you can see the content very well also in color.
There nothing to complain about in my opinion.
I personally like the display from the A510 better despite missing HD.
So wish: brightness and color temperature of the A510 with the HD capability of the A700 - that would top.

I'm not a high-end gamer but use the tablet for more "casual game", but mainly for consumption of videos, music and Internet surfing, e-mails etc.
Here I can not tell the difference between the A510 and the A700.
If there should be stuttering in A700, so I do not fall in this.
Probelme I had with the Vidergabe video (MPEG), but I run back to the playback program and not the hardware.
Here I hope even with a software upgrade (Acer is reportedly working already on it) to the stability of all the video player programs out and improve.
The device is down right hot on the back side - probably because the processor is seated - but it is not "hot", ie remains comfortable to hold.
Both tray are no good for high ambient light (ie on the terrace in the sun) - but these are known display properties.
What to buy now?
For the price difference and the normal practice, the A510 is perfectly adequate and has the "better" display.
Should it eventually for the price of the A700, the A511 give (with UMTS), then the A511 would be my first choice.
I reserve due to the severe supply problems but both trays.
Due to the weaker displays there for the A700 only 4 stars, for the A510, I give it 5 stars
Addendum December 2012:
My A700 was now two times to repair. First, it no longer wanted Boats - motherboard was replaced within a week.
Then there was, however, little black flickering stripes on the display, seen especially in large white areas.
So again eingesandtund 4 weeks waiting. Again, the motherboard was replaced. Probably an error in the graphics chip.
But now everything is ok
And with Andoid 4.1. everything runs pretty smoothly. Am satisfied makes really fun.
