The main difference lies mainly in the material used for the ironing surface: in this model, the Leifheit ironing surface is (not the reference) of a kind of foamed plastic, while the latter consists of a metal grid at the Siemens model.
I think it also partly the weight difference between the models is - the Siemens weighs acc.Manufacturer 11.7 Kg and is really powerful to handle, while for the Leifheit ironing board weight is given as 9Kg.. He is light as a feather for me in comparison.
For me, the built-Plastic is not a problem because I never let stand on the surface the iron. The storage area for the ironing system is somewhat simpler than with the Siemens model - my Rowenta station that weighs several kilograms, takes place without any problems.
I must say that I'm more excited about the reference - is indeed a point of criticism here - and this is compared to the Siemens reference. The Leifheit reference is provided all around with a rubber, and stretches well and completely smooth on the surface. The reference to the Siemens model is indeed cut a little larger, but only around lashed with a cord. The cover sits much worse in the long run and is wrinkled.
How does the Leifheit reference in the continuous use, of course, is not in sight. In the Siemens table the annoyances occurred (and also desperate reorders of replacement covers) on only after some time. The design of the cover in this Leifheit ironing board I like the way not as good as the manufacturers could quietly come up with more variants, finally ironing tables are not always immediately cleared away, certainly not in this weight class.
The suction function is a great help when steam ironing. For me it's now no longer to use a steam generator iron without appropriate suction table. Otherwise, the ironing surface is too fast soaking wet and you can not continue ironing.
The blowing, I use only to dry thoroughly the reference something from below.
Conclusion: This model is Leifheit much easier than that I know of - identical to parts - model from Siemens. This is a distinct advantage in handling. The functionality is impeccable and virtually indispensable when operating a steam generator iron.
