I love the work of Emmanuelle Carrère, including "More lives than mine," but I found this novel too self-absorbed and I had trouble keeping the author in his intellectual wanderings. I found this somewhat clumsy self-analysis and in fact I have not finished the novel (a novel is this anyway?), So this review covers only the beginning of the book.
