The HDR-PJ410 is not a high-end model, nor a designer piece. Not particularly high quality mostly of plastic and also of the haptics. But, and that alone counts at least for me, it is very well made and it served its purpose. The camera is very easy (at least in my perception) and, above all, very handy. What I like less is the fact that one has no viewfinder lens but always on, rotary, monitor must look. Degrees in direct sunlight is partly but very tedious.
Whether the camera is now 9 or more megapixels is not decisive but only the visible image quality for me. And here the pipsqueak can convince me entirely. Set to Highest or High quality images are delivered both on the PC monitor as well as on a Full HD TV worth seeing. Important here is but one a suitable Micro SD Memory Card (SDXC UHS-I Class 10) and uses the camera to Settings then set the file format XAVC S HD.
The built-Micro is sufficient to provide a connection for an external Micro, however, is not provided.
Practically, grade in conjunction with the extreme digital zooming is the possibility the camera remotely via smartphone or tablet. For this, the HDR-PJ410 has a private WLAN with which you then can connect. A matching app can be found for both Android and in the iTunes Store for the iPhone. Conveniently, you can transfer in this way also all recorded movies or photos directly to the mobile device and also to a TV with Wi-Fi. By remote control via wireless you can put the camera on a solid surface and then control everything via mobile device, so shaky images belong to the past. While offering the Sony also mentioned the usual SteadyShot anti-shake, but when using the 60x digital zoom, this is now also times overwhelmed.
In addition, Sony has a feature which I feel a special highlight: the built-in projector. This is was not very bright (13 lumens), but to project times a grade film shot on a bright living room wall without spending an extra to purchase additional equipment or to transfer the movie to a computer, which is perfectly adequate and has the acquaintance of astonished Faces made.
What is missing? As always with cameras in the low price segments a bag (there are starting almost 14) and a small memory card as original equipment. But here actually save most manufacturers, I think in the wrong place.
Conclusion: For the uninitiated, is a perfect introduction to digital film world, the advanced amateur should better look for bigger models. I personally has nothing really lacking and therefore I can give good conscience to 5 star.
