Bridge chip: JMicron JMS 566 (SATA 3G 300MB / s)
Here very briefly on this adapter the info: the JMS566 is a generation out of date (the new JMS 567 SATA 6.0Gb can). If you want to connect a high-speed SSD, will be thwarted by outdated Bridge chip.
Furthermore, there is nothing to complain about. In the pictures (which can be found on my blog: search for "zero brain Orico") some of the "Teardown" you can see how my coil of the voltage transformer is torn during disassembly. The inductor seems to be not really perfect fixed, but kept (which probably prevents you can hear disturbing noises (vibration of the coil) from the tape on the back ...
Benchmark: I continue to use the Flash Utility c't test with my old Crucial M4 SSD. Even this configuration does not irritate the adapter, but currently sufficient to sort out the "cucumber" (A USB adapter with the Asmedia ASM1051 chip shows in this simple test about 60% less performance). However, the test works in this manner only on SSDs that do not compress the data.
The throughput test is carried out and repeated 2x at the end with a "traditional hard drive".
At The End:
Product evaluation are not rewarding hobby (even blog posts to illustrate not).
The only motivation is, the positive reviews (or constructive reviews) at the end of the month.
