Samsung MZ-7TE250BW Series 840 EVO Basic internal SSD (6.3 cm (2.5 inches), 250GB, 512MB cache, SATA III) metallic silver
In standard PC I would Crucial SSD 256GB internal CT256MX100SSD1 (6.4 cm (2.5 inches), SATA III) Install silver, as it offers the best price / performance ratio and maximum reliability. A Key for a free Clone Software Acronis included, although write journals, Crucial nothing had there. Software from Samsung, however, is easier to handle, so I would advise beginners to Samsung rather, when a parade of old board imminent. With Acronis had not worked for me without any problems and I had to make do me with a free third-party software. So that was not planned and could have go wrong.
The MTBF / durability (Mean Time Between Failures) is according to Samsung at 1.5 million hours or 75 TB
Power idle / write
0.4 / 2.4 Watt
For comparison, a Crucial MX100 with almost the same capacity:
2.78 W (Typical)
0.81 W (idle)
Comparative value of a power-saving WD 5400 hard disk of the Blue Series:
3.1W (operation)
0.8 W (idle)
The power consumption will of course vary depending on the application. When writing the newest EVO pulls with 250GB only 1.7W, while the previous model 3.1W and the MX100 approved to 3.2W. One sees clearly that the power consumption has been greatly reduced by the new 3D cells. This is the decisive advantage and also the essential argument for a 250 EVO for me.
The EVO latest design is optimal for mobile devices, and Samsung seems to have done its homework. Miracles can and can not expect from the new SSD generations. But well-absolute reliability and a trouble free installation and subsequent maintenance with Samsung's own software. With firmware updates I've never had problems in the past with the 840 series. Who had ever by a failed firmware update a defective PC, will appreciate this very much.
With SSDs, I value quality, reliability and easy to use software that lay not overwhelmed. These claims met Samsung fully, so I forgive 5 star, even if the current price is significantly higher than comparable drives. Personally, I have always collected with Samsung products only good experiences, which is why I prefer the manufacturer clearly. I have also witnessed EVO SD & Micro SD memory cards in various other devices and never a failure.
If you want to clone on a notebook, needs an appropriate adapter.
