The film is a solid sci-fi strip, the effects are good, the futuristic city is beautifully staged, the spacecraft design is appealing and futuristic controls (spaceship, gadgets, etc.) is initially nothing to complain about.
Will Smith plays a rather deadly serious (he feels no fear) soldiers and operates in accordance with its role more like a machine than like a human being. His son is the opposite, he is emotional, anxious and wants his father liked.
All other roles are not worthy of mention, as they appear only very briefly.
I would not summarize the plot for the thousandth time now, only so much: The two stranded on the good old earth that has been conquered in the meantime by nature back, Will Smith (Cypher) is badly injured and therefore has his son (Kitai) the Rules matter and the 100th km from the rear of the spaceship hike depose to a distress signal.
The Earth is beautifully presented, great landscape shots a completely feral world, the animals are credible because they are strongly oriented to reality. And there just is not the threat of Ursa who has been on board the spaceship and escaped apparently. The cattle can not see myself, but smells fear. That is precisely the main task, as will go the film - and of course a good Father-Son relationship.
After Earth is an adventure film in which fought a teenager the respect of his father and more does not pretend to be the film. For me it was exciting entertainment in beautiful images, the bottom line to me the film will remain positive in the memory. I could not find a "horrible acting performance", still to be found in the film Scientology elements (see also wiki entry - there is no Scientology in this film). A stink normal adventure film like it in principle hundreds on the market are having similar story elements.
Who is so like me belonging to the backside passes that Will Smith has been here his son starring can enjoy a solid produced sci-fi adventure film. Why only 3 stars? The story is a little too easy, as that certain something would have to flick and the Survival backpack I did not like. This miserable rattling thing from cheap plastic and sobering content.
Not a bad movie, here one should form his own opinion, many reviews are exaggerated bad. Cheer up - do not be afraid! ;)
