- Delivery -
As far as "standard." They give you a fully automatic coffee machine with height-adjustable coffee spout, frothing jet (left of the housing), adjustable ceramic grinder and removable brew group. There is also the feature of a removable bean container. So you can theoretically 100 different varieties of coffee have you ever lie in your own bean container inside the cabinet and replace "on the fly", if you want a different variety. That's the theory: The practice fails this theory with me, for example, because I simply do not want to have to look for a separate room for the bean container. But that's all left to itself and definitely a feature to which some people are standing.
Is not so plump that no milk carafe or the like is included in it and a second bean container (would be fittingly) also not. The idea is (as with other manufacturers also), that you leave out what is not necessarily integrated into the device.
Anyway: For but one can be clean the milk circuit automatically. After all that. Ever but spoken in the product description too much of cleaning A, B and rinsing program Entkaltung C to recognize the real strengths between these insignificant details. The delivery is also not recognize it - they are more in detail. For example, the water tank with 1.9 liters is quite large, the bean container with 300g incidentally also (that's less - would be greater but for me still great) (in comparison), also has the unit holding a Milchaufschäum nozzle with which one also Cappuccinos hinkriegt. For those features that already are an obvious when considering the scope of supply: thumbs up. But is really innovative because nothing in it, right? Still comes ...
A short word about the manual: Although it is a guide for the device here, but criticized by the pre-reviewers "CD" problem I see. As a rule, I do not have next to my fully automatic one PC are to me "just" where there much more precisely illustrated "rules" look up what switch A, X, Y or Z is. Since I would prefer a printed manual. As part of Philips Saeco but it is probably better not to do so - Philips instructions tend to drive me completely crazy.
- Facilities / equipment features / characteristics -
Main feature is that the machine times (finally!) Works relatively quiet. Whether that is technically good or bad, I can not judge, but felt it is super - especially if you're used to from his Melitta that the morning wakes at 05:30 half the house, because you have forgotten them with filling powder and losmahlt that thing kicking. In the HD8768 that's all rather than whirring roar, what I want to push to the ceramic factory and a sophisticated cleaning solution; however, the HD8768 has the old "problem" of all fully automated: you rinsed the switching on and off and you're almost forced to provide a vessel under, if you do not want to constantly empty the entire machine.
Overall, the machine offers but definitely features that I do not want to miss. Very nice is also fact that larger glasses fit under the coffee spout - in conjunction with the milk frother a really well-rounded. It has sometimes thought along that matter subject Latte macchiato (tall glasses?). Nevertheless, of course, applies here: even better would be even higher. With my cup of Starbucks, I still have problems with filling ;-)
- Installation / commissioning / installation -
Joah. What can we say? Commissioning proved problematic, and I must say in fairness that I had already fought there last year with a Melitta machine. In this respect, I knew what comes to me. Everywhere you I could adjust the water hardness does not find - but the machine is running. So far, so good ;-) Overall, the ergonomics is not quite the optimum feel of the keys just not 100%, but at 95% good I'd settle already. The unit is fairly intuitive to use and with the exception of features that are apparently documented only on the CD (for example, cleaning programs) to get to the machine "from the state of" clear. I'm at least.
- Operation / Ergonomics -
See above. The operation is relatively simple and son holding a sort of "self-perpetuating" if you have a fully automatic machine had contact. They are holding all somehow equal and Saeco has here now is not necessarily a "We reinvent everything", but delivered a very solid machine that can do what needs to be skillfully.
- Particularities -
Who list "Which Saeco coffee machine best suited to me?" Is look, which is equal to lop the first entry for "One Touch": Why is there in the HD8768 / 01 There you go "yes except latte macchiato". Reason: No idea. Maybe it's so that you have with the other devices of the Saeco-series actually just a press button to get Macciato bar, but the few handles that remain one to do in the setting of the HD8768 (!) - So can I live.
- And? How does it taste? -
Good. As of Saeco usual (I myself have long used a Saeco and acquaintances still have one) is the taste useful, well frothed foam and otherwise also nothing to complain about when it comes to the quality of the product, which comes at the end of this round, if you can make a Saeco machine easily. Saeco has here indeed starches that are additionally underscored by the quiet grinder. As for the usability and the taste, to Saeco may well make the open comparison with other, similar producers and pricewise it has good chances of winning. Overall Saeco - for that matter - a round thing.
- But? -
Yes, there is a but. With Saeco there (and therefore it will probably only give 4 stars) frappierendes a problem in terms of design. Saeco approaches Although eg the HD8768 from the bottom of the others in the same price segment, but it's just an approach from below. For almost 800 can be quite real metal expect the best even "real" looks, usable keys with decent pressure points would not be bad and anything at the look at feel of a device that is more expensive than some smartphones with apple on it or laptops from well known manufacturers. What there works, it works at Saeco devices not know what makes me a little sad, because the last time we fully automatic coffee-buying (this is indeed a tester) I was deterred from buying by those same optics (!), Even though the performance Saeco are as good as the competition across the board. Sad.
- After a week -
In daily operation, the bean container has been proven for refilling wonderful. Take out is better than having to flip upside down purely ;-) I also like the approach to the external milk container. It can also be a Tetrapac and has thus the advantage of being a non weggammelt milk or somewhere you must separately between refrigerate a milk container from the coffee machine. All bene. The coffee tastes still good and I can only say: Beautiful inner values. Look at me I like the Saeco now also well, but the design is just a bit ... well, the Melitta "next door" looks somehow-quality at the same price.
- Conclusion -
Good buy for people who can do something with the Saeco-optic or not care about appearance. From the price-performance-wise okay, albeit not mega cheap, but not excessive so expensive. A middle-class fully automatic with noticeably standardized technique that addressed what interests the consumer: Good coffee, soft grinder, not a lot you can do wrong in the operation. In short, 4 stars. With upward trend (comes to the long-term effect on).
