I just bought this book, which is the French version of a method having already "card" in Spain. Unlike many language textbooks, the presentation is very nice and readable (text is airy and illustrated with examples from manga) and it is for real beginners (other manuals need to already have some basics ). I have not yet studied in detail, but it seems interesting because it has the essential me for a beginner: the two Japanese alphabets (hiragana and katakana), a chapter on the kanji (the famous Chinese characters) , essential expressions (appear, give the time ...) as well as basic grammar and vocabulary. A slight downside: this book is an introductory book, he obviously does not in itself to learn to speak Japanese (in fact, it offers a hundred kanji, while speaking Japanese fluently, he must in control about two thousand). Therefore, if we want to move beyond the mere initiation, shall be completed with other books. Moreover, teenagers attracted by this book just because manga may be a little disappointed as manga are here rather a pretext to illustrate a language textbook actually quite classic (and denser content than that coverage might suggest). In summary, a good buy for beginners Japanese.
