Finally the stick runs on MacOS X 10.7! What a fight! But thanks to the quick support of retailers, the problem is now fixed!
The fact that the drivers are supplied on a miniCD is of course still nonsense, probably because most Macs have only a SlotIn drive.
For installation, proceed as follows:
1. Do not install all / any driver from the miniCD!
2. On the miniCD is a small sticker, there is which driver is the right name for the hardware. In this case: "RealTek8191SU"
3. Search the Internet or better on the Realtek homepage for that name.
4. Under: [...] You can also find a link to download the latest drivers
5. Drivers Download: [...]. Download the appropriate drivers for your Mac Version (up 10.8!) And unpack the zip archive.
7. Zip Archive see an installer that you run once. Then your Mac restarts.
8. After restarting, you see the Wireless Network Utility, which prompts you to go into the system settings and there the newfound Device (it announces itself as a wired device, do not be surprised) to activate.
9. Enable do it by clicking once on the device, there once more, then "OK" and "Apply". Done.
10. Back in the Wireless Network Utility, you can now configure their Wi-Fi, or connect to your WLAN.
I hope I could help with this little guide.
IMPORTANT: any drivers install No way from the CD! This has led me to the below report problems!
Before:
"Hello,
I have to give my anger a little air, unfortunately, here.
Before I supposedly bought this also for MacOS X functioning WLAN stick, I have the seller by e-mail contact and can guarantee me that the stick is 100% compatible with MacOS 10.7.5.
A "naturally the stick is compatible with 10.7.5," was the short answer. Then I ordered the stick, the day arrived for me. (Appointed on 14.5.2013 and arrived from England on 22/05/2013)
I was looking forward to finally lift the slow built-B standard in Mac.Mini by the stick on n-standard.
Nope!
On the enclosed mini-CD !!! had a total of 4 different Mac OS driver available. Pushed before a mini-CD in a slot-in drive? That's right, do not go. So the data previously on the PC (still more than a "normal" DVD drive has) on a USB stick and copied so dubbed for Mac.Mini.
Then it started. The first two drivers took nothing! Ah but, the second brought the Mac Abstürz. That was the first time that I saw such a screen on Mac, where was that the computer had crashed and should I press the power button until the computer runs out.
So continue with driver number 3. Now it is: After installing a new device actually appeared in the network configuration, but as a network adapter rather than a stick. I was to infect an Ethernet cable, was there !!!
So drivers remained No. 4, which is not from Realtek but of Raltek left. Clicked the install script double and installed. Again, the installation went very smoothly and I was asked to reboot. Pressed thumb. The spark not give up hope. And? Precisely nothing! (Was not surprising, because the Install folder here MacOS10.5, next to this folder, there were 10.4 and 10.3. Prima, when using self-10.7!)
So all in all a great FLOP! For 11 probably to be expected. Cheap China goods with moderately to no support. On the Internet, I find, unfortunately, no drivers, because this is a nameless Chinese manufacturers. "
