I have / had already Olympus XZ-1, XZ 2, various PEN models, and Panasonic LX-7, several Nikon / Sony SLRs / SLTs and Nexen, so may well compare a wide field. I rate my photos after the full screen view-impression on a very good 17 "full HD notebook; videos are with me secondary matter.
To make it clear what the XZ-10 means to me and where I see them, I run on first, what it can not, without the criticism would be:
- Replace an SLR, and because of the tiny sensor no PEN; a XZ-1/2, however, at least to some extent, in some respects even much better.
- A Super Zoomer for the same money to replace - if a 130mm telephoto necessarily need more, you're here just plain wrong.

Even very nice collages from multiple images can be created on the camera. Unfortunately only during recording and no longer afterwards, which I find very unfortunate because that limits the value of these new added value feature huge. You just have to yet again on the PC for squat.
- The FN key can be programmed with multiple functions, which are then successively durchzappt and adjusts with the large lens ring. Works great and fast.
- Various image formats can be also upped the ante and thus dialed quickly, even the very interesting 1: 1 format. Not everyone wants to sit down in the evening to the PC for trimming; previewing the subject right format and perspective choose for me are a part of the fun when photographing, squatting on the PC is for me (except when sharing experiences, ie read reviews and, indeed, write) wasted lifetime. The only -for some, like me, is precisely the erhebliche- restriction caused by the small sensor with the high depth of focus resulting from little plastic image impression have all compacts with this sensor size; but this falls well only if you "from above, so großsensorigen cameras like MFT / APS-C cometh (already the XZ1 / 2 are the XZ-10 here noticeably ahead). From my very strong 4 stars. No 5 for the lame responsive zoom lever and the lack of manual focus, as well as the short battery life and the lack of charging cradle. The small sensor and bulky connectors / folding screens can not fault it, they are not quality issue, but part of the compactness concept.
