Assassin's Creed Unity - [PlayStation 4] (Video Game)

Customer Review

This review is written by an AC-Fan of the first hour. What has always fascinated me at the Saga, were historically very lively and quite authentically designed Stories and game worlds.

I am therefore impossible not to compare this game with his predecessors and their benefits.

Already at AC 4 - Black Flag has in my opinion noted that the actions were carelessly and not more emphasis on depth and the ultimate goal of the Assassins and Templars was laid. Even the "Abstergo Part" was in my eyes rather a loveless accessories which seemed as if it was just so attached because the creative department could think of nothing better. It was more like a pirate than a game Assassin! Even if it was for good.

Already here I hoped that the successor (AC Unity) would grind out those saddle. Finally, the action is clearly historical back and offers many possibilities with many individual characters to play and build an application-rich and versatile action.

Unfortunately, I was also part of this, despite some positive things from many many reasons disappointed (SPOILER WARNING):

+ Dynamic population
+ Lovingly and authentically-designed Paris
+ The quick descend is an asset
+ The idea of the new Multiplayer / Co-op I feel much more appealing than catch the games from previous parts. Even the "feel" of the French Revolution is well captured in the least Koops by initiating and their respective roles.
+ The Helix cracks are a nice gimmick
+ The murders also add variety

- The multiplayer crashes is laggy, desyncron, bugged and thus currently not got such great pleasure as he could be.

- The combat system has no more combination attacks, also can no longer be grasped rifles and the human shield was also abolished. I do not know where because the improvement is

- No more regeneration, it no longer needs to repair but dull fill by medicine (during a fight) just his armor. A clear step backwards

- The climbing system is hakelig as ever. Meanwhile, you can go through a lot more houses (positive), but Arno is just like its predecessor still too stupid to go through a door or walk past a chair. Partially very frustrating. Also climbing through windows is a challenge which does not work well.

- Paris is huge and with its many different districts also offers variety. However, trips would have been quite attractive in other cities.

- The Palace of Versailles can only be entered in the main mission.

- The side missions are quite similar.

- The main mission is too short for me, has too little to do with the revolution and hardly captivated me. It also provides no appreciable action-packed pursuits, climbing documents or other surprises. The end is quite predictable.

The game has certainly, in particular through the whole side missions, much content. This works but carelessly hung on to each other to inflate artificially the game. Here quality rather than quantity to me would have been much better.

Here is where my main criticism:

The French Revolution is arguably one of the most important historical events of the last 500 years. What Ubisoft made with this almost self-running skills story with all its twists? Actually nothing! In any case, far too little.

There is no permanent link between the story and the game. You do not get with how the mood of the people tilts as the bearings of the sans-culottes, Jacobins, royalists or ordinary people witnessed the whole. Although important in the revolution groups are entered. However, still missing the link to the story absolutely. Arno really interested in not for the revolution, and so it is also just on the edge of the historical events. What I would have expected? Arno that is closer to the events of the revolution with his assassins. Perhaps followed the king in his flight and for pursuing the correspondence with the foreign. He tried as a fighter for justice to stand and thereby realize how it all slips and other powers prevail. The events such as the assassination of the king and his wife have more importance that the storming of the Bastille receives a certain role, that of changing the balance of power will be better represented and better supported by intrigues of the Templars, and and and! In short: The part does play at times of the French Revolution, but has so little to do!

Other inconsistencies and unkindness that have really disappointed me (SPOILER WARNING):

- Arnos way to the assassins is indeed represented fairly well, but are also here many aspects, have added very plump. Hardly is Arno taken at the Assassin, he gets a Cafe / Theater asked which eked out his income (is clear). That was a lot better in parts such as AC 2, AC Revelations or 3.

- Arno is banned during the main story of an in my opinion very poor reason of the Order. Nevertheless, he maintains the cafe and can continue to access the Assassin quarters and all Assassin missions ?!

- Last but not least an absolute impudence what the unkindness and obviously priority sales and tight deadlines highlights: I bought the Bastille Edition and this done in particular because of the bonus missions. The Bonus Mission "Chemical Revolution" was a joke! This is a blunt side mission in something is to be procured. No video sequences, no special rewards, no exciting story, nothing! It took perhaps 15-20 minutes which you could get bored of a race to B, kill enemy and then procure something. That's it.

Conclusion:

Although my impressions look very destructive and bad doing opinionated, yet it is only the expression of a really enthusiastic AC fans which was very pleased on this part with a particularly interesting historical background and was bitterly disappointed. Simply because in this part so much more potential has stuck. Apart from the actual lack of love has me especially the fact shocked that here a more or less unfinished game was thrown with pseudo-customer Verarschungscontent on the market.

In future I will no longer advance the elements of that series but certainly buy only when the teething problems have been resolved and we at least get back some value for the money.
