good Blu-ray player with good playback of Blu-ray, but a few good app functions

It was once again at a Blu-ray player purchase. It had to be a time-consuming and more expensive high-quality, since I only use it as a second player.
Then I remembered the LG BP420 positive eye, as some magazines praised this to the skies. therefore bought and tested. The player is connected to a TV via the Toshiba 47Z3030D Denon AVR-1312 as well as directly to the TV (only screen test!).

The streaming from my home pc running over the network without any problems. Access used automatically (after appropriate setting on the PC), problems and even surprisingly quickly. The display on the PC looks quite good. The media playback from a connected hard disk or USB Stuick works perfectly. At current file formats (including .mkv, .avi, .mp3, .mp4, .wmv, .wma, .jpg, etc ...) is actually reproduced everything.

But when we come to a significant drawback - the Smart TV function. While this is significantly more than in my first LG Blu ray player (because really there was only Youtube and a weather app), but compared to Samsung or Sony comes the LG as under.

Conclusion: The value for money is really great, because you can not complain much one. The Blu-ray and audio playback is really very good. Play from hard drives and USB sticks running perfectly, so that the LG BD420 player works well as a media server. Not so great, however, the playback of DVD and the reduced SmartTV offers.
