Have looked at the current range of Sony and there was really only this 7200 in question. First, because of the rack optics which fits properly to other equipment, and secondly in the cheaper models without display, something is not at all.
Considering that it is the current top model, it is relatively inexpensive. Unfortunately, this is reflected in many things again. My BDP S-550 was not then the top model but has more on offer all around. Firstly, a display, control lamp for 24p output, and these illuminated front in the middle of what was really actually. Although during 7200 there the display but otherwise no further lamps. At Display you can no longer display the remaining time. At 550 you could still switch. This key is also missing on the remote control.
Here we are already in the second. The remote control is processed appropriately and ok but that's it. It is no longer lit and relatively cumbersome, since too small. My old remote from the 550 works here but also still (just missing the new keys for Net content). The 7200 remote causes with my electric screen unfortunately interfere with some key sequences. As comes with even the canvas down or something.
The processing of the player is actually very good. While it is all plastic but looks like brushed aluminum. The BDP S-550 was there on glossy, which was also sensitive. So here I can not complain, as measured by the price.
The Einlesezeiten are really very good. Has incredibly improved compared to the 550. The Network Load content "relatively" quickly, which unfortunately varies from service to service. The menu is liquid but could nevertheless a little smoother going despite dual-core. After the Internet abutted, had to be pulled over 80MB update. Everything went quickly and smoothly. Configuration also.
The quality of picture and sound is beyond any doubt. When reading the drive makes some noise but then you hear nothing.
Apparently, the competition is in the players so blatant that the manufacturers supply a real price war and ours is already the most expensive. Although the player does everything it should and also really good but somehow I'm somewhat spoiled in the past.
