------- In Detail -------
After my Canon Pixma iP4950 had given up his mind, I wanted to buy the same model again, because I was (except for the last two months) very satisfied. When I saw, however, that Canon in November wanted to bring a new model onto the market, which had wireless capability, I waited to buy me the new right for the market launch. (My order through Amazon, I canceled because the delivery time was stated by several weeks, and I had the articles found elsewhere on the net much cheaper and available.)
First impressions: The Canon ip7250 is flatter and larger than my old printer, something altogether clunky in appearance. The delivery was as stated, an additional USB cable was kindly still there.
Installation: The step-by-step guide was easy to understand, the removal of protective covers and the cartridge insertion went smoothly. Only in the case of the wireless connection, it took some time until I came out that the WPS start button that I should not activate was a real button on my Fritz box, but a well-hidden button on the address [...] ( with me WLAN security WPS quick connection, I have the FRITZ! Box Fon WLAN 7320) Then there were the two devices, the driver CD is inserted and I had to follow the instructions.
Use: Prints text and color photos have the usual Canon quality, just like my old printer. However, the printer is noticeably louder. Before each print job, it rumbles terribly in the printer, but maybe that will puts yes. The low-noise mode, although the pressure transition quieter, but that preliminary and Hnterherrumpeln can thereby not fix. Perhaps this maintenance so less over time be. The media pressure, I have not tried yet. (The CD slot is tucked away at the back of the paper cassette).
The printer has two paper trays, below for plain paper, photo paper up. Unfortunately, and this is my biggest gripe, grasp both cassettes very little paper so much printer must frequently reprinted. In addition, a paper missing. With my old printer I did it so that I had in the paper feed and good scratch paper in the cassette of white paper. Photos I could easily add to Einzu. Now I have to change every time the paper, depending on whether I want to make an important pressure or only a less important lubrication pressure.
Unfortunately, the power-saving stand-alone off the printer does not work with Wi-Fi access. Well, that's what I hammer out independently with my old printer. However, the automatic switching of the printer works with the appropriate setting in the Options. A small gimmick is still the self-acting unfolding the paper holder. However, I am such frills somewhat skeptical, since every complication could be tend to repair.
------- -------- Outlook
In retrospect, I could have done better my old Canon Pixma iP4950 ordered me again, but someone has to try out the new models, and because my printer was broken, this new purchase offered. My 3 stars are good 3 star, let's see, maybe convinced me the new Pixma still more in the course of its operating life with me. Follow updates.
Addendum NOVEMBER 26: The duplex feature I am very satisfied, the image is clean and the speed is good.
Supplement January 15, 2013: After printing some photo calendars was the blue cartridge all, now I try the printer already 40 minutes (!!!) to move to print out a photo. But after I had gewechsel the blue cartridge, the printer organized beaten 20 minutes unproductive noise to announce then that the black cartridge has to be changed. After changing the black cartridge the same game with the note, now the red cartridge is all ...
