I've tested a lot of shaving in the price range from 4 to 35 euros, including the British classic. The men's cosmetics series Tabac Original was introduced by Maurer & Wirtz (Stolberg / Rheinland) in the 1950s. The tallow based shaving can lather up very well with hard water. The foam is cream-like and retains moisture for several minutes. The beard is soft and the skin is very smooth and slippery. The shaving soap ensures particularly comfortable and close shave without irritation, burning or drying out the skin. Through the dense foam to protect the skin from injury mE is better than all of mine tested shaving (use Pils razor or razor Feather). The supplied Rasiertiegel is made of opal glass with bakelite lid and is also suitable for larger shaving. In the soap are preventing the rotation of the soap during foaming and 4 slots in the cup the corresponding counterparts. The edge of the crucible extends across the surface of soap, so that the foam is not so rapidly led by the crucible edge. As a physician, I look at the ingredients of shaving as uncritical. The intense herb-spicy scent I find pleasant and unobtrusive. The soap is, unlike most Italian shaving, tight enough so that stubble (and epithelia, etc.) can be washed away from the soap. Conclusion: The Tabac Original shaving soap in my opinion one of the best shaving which there are currently on the market. The excellent properties of the Shaving be complemented by the relatively low price, the non-critical components and the very good availability.
