The direct competitor of course is the Xperia Tablet Z, that power and size to fit exactly as a comparison.
From the performance of the Gigaset should Sony actually outdo and so I was on some negative reviews for QV1030 surprised.
As the Gigabyte was delivered I was a little disappointed; I received a black and not as expected, a silver ...
Well ...
The first impression was very good in any case!
Packaging and value of the unit fit for me to quite high standards (and yes you have the price range to keep in mind).
Processing and quality impression are immaculate.
The tablet is very good in the hand and I would have liked a little more structure / grip for the rear surface.
The initial setup went smoothly, here I noticed the same great touch feeling of the capacitive display on.
Definitely not bad (rather better) than the Xperia Tablet Z.
At once I have the brightness set to maximum and the picture quality seen - Super!
A great display with good contrast and excellent brightness.
No clouding and even in the dark no uneven illumination at the edges.
But to be honest; the display of the Xperia Tablet is a touch brighter and has (in direct comparison), the brighter colors.
If you have no direct comparison, the display quality of the Gigaset is however extremely well.
On top of that, it offers higher by about 97% as FullHD resolution (Xperia Tabelt Z).
If you are wondering about faded images, which should consider the source here whatsoever.
In normal use (for example, photos, browser or Google Earth) the picture is razor sharp.
I must admit that my QV1030 in the first few minutes a bit slower than my Xperia Z Tabelt occurred ... If the negative reviews but are right ...?
At once there was a message about a firmware update for the tablet, which I have downloaded and installed the same (a little patience Beginning required the data rate to the server was very unsporting ...).
The installation went smoothly and then, whoops, seemed Tablet noticeably faster!
As I reluctantly rely on subjective feelings, I installed and tested of course (as I always do) AnTuTu benchmark.
Here the Gigaset Sony suggests a lot!
Approximately 31,000 points (QV1030) to approximately 20,500 points (Xperia Tablet Z), both with the same, installed virus scanner.
With such a big difference I did not expect!
The results I have set among customers pictures.
This is also reflected in the work noticed, the Gigaset is a really nifty tablet!
Even I, as a "power hungry", have my joy here!
Strikingly good is the sound quality of QV1030.
There is a switchable Sound Effect that affects the sound spectrum again positive.
The volume of the volume is extremely high.
The camera delivers amazingly good pictures.
The dual LED flash has a high efficiency - but only at shorter distances.
From a larger viewing area of the flash tends to "fogging" on the left side.
But even without a flash, the image quality in low light conditions fairly well.
Better than the Xperia Tablet Z (which only has no LED flash).
Positive is also the excellent wireless connectivity of gigabytes.
Consistently good signal strength and with installed Fritz WLAN app shows is always a much better rate when connecting the Sony Tablet (I have 2 access points in my apartment)!
Conclusion:
For me, the Gigaset QV1030 is definitely a high-performance tablet.
I love it even more fun than my Sony Xperia Tablet Z, which had been for me the reference.
Considering even the price / performance ratio, it cuts all the better.
From my clear recommendation!
Addendum 09.09.2014:
I use the Gigaset now almost nine months and it runs, as before, properly.
For the current price level, I know of no comparable Tablet with this performance.
Still clear recommendation!
