I used to date the Walther CSL 50 as "always-casual-lights", I recently had to listen to me, that you will no longer cause such a thing in the era of LEDs ... After reading the reviews here and on other portals I looked at the Olight ordered that came in cardboard and blister-today. An AAA battery is included, super. Light unit turned off, the battery in and off you go. Two seal rings are available as spare it.
Between the light modes you have to change by turning the light unit. The weak mode extends to keyhole search, the average is already a lot light and very bright lights also, and that's why I bought me, dark and gravel parking areas from ... better than Walt Herchenhainer and older photon pumping of Two Brothers. The turning-light mode mechanism Personally I like not very good, as you rotate the complete lighting unit. A remote ring behind the lighting unit would have liked better.
In addition, the lamp lights up when the unit rotates together ... how weird is this going. It would have seemed logical to me, when the lamp is lit by screwing, but no. If the unit is completely screwed together, the lamp lights. To clear the light so the unit must be screwed, that is, be slightly loosened. Renewed screwing moves to the next stage light. The rhythm is so 1 = weak to / on = from / 2 to = average / on = from / to 3 = strong / on = off. 4. fast switching through the modes / = to strobe mode.
Better a slider or push button I'd like to change the modes, but that may be because of habit or taste or the size of the lamp ....
Since the lamp is evident from the known Flugzeugalu, it comes very easily therefore. How scratch-resistant PP. she is, she will have to prove.
Because I so far only the photon pumping of two brothers and the Walther CSL 50 know as a small or micro-flashlights, I must say that I consider the price just because of the light output for as appropriate. Since I will carry the lamp daily in your pocket, it should be robust and resistant. The Olight seems to me - I have repeatedly Walther dig out - far far thinner walls and thus to be "vulnerable". Compared to the 25 lumens of Walter the specified 70 seem as though as bright, but I would have expected more .... clean out of interest I would order now nearly ThruNite and Kraftmax to keep just about all three in hands and to compare ....
I will try to comment on the lamp after a period of use, again, as an appendix to this evaluation.
Conclusion: the expectations were not fully met, so there is a star deduction.
Second star deduction there for the following anecdote:
When removing the lamp a little involuntary and sudden disillusionment: Kracks and oops, what's that? Lamp and carrying chain in two. The visible image on the hook, ideal for belt loops is, together with chain attached with a lobster clasp to a Dreiecköse the lamp ground. The lobster clasp it had destroyed the same from the blister when pressing out the lamp ... for me is not so tragic, because I want the lamp depend neither on the belt, even on a keychain. You klippt in the breast pocket of my jacket M65. The small Walther CSL 50 will accompany me on anyway, so supplements the Olight the Walther only and is used when more light is needed. Nevertheless, this should not actually happen! The chain together with "safety catch" makes moreover a rather inferior impression ...
Would I buy my lamp: according to current knowledge, no! She feels this too "tinny" and "cheap" ... I would have recourse to the lighting of my iPhone and the EUR saved myself 25.00.
To be continued after a test phase ....
Following:
As described in my earlier review, I could not resist in the aftermath and the Kraftmax X100 and ThruNite Ti3've yet to be ordered. What foolishness, well, the lights are indeed possibly also a nice gift.
One in advance: If we know all three not simultaneously met each lamp for themselves what they want. All three have good processing, apart from my little mishap in the Olight with the broken belt loop hook from.
Optics / haptics / Packaging
All three come in black aluminum body. Unfortunately, the Kraftmax (hereinafter K) has no grip ribbing on which Olight (below O) is slightly grooved and ThruNite (hereinafter T) is corrugated really deep. So The best way to keep the T, a credit to the latter. All three lamps have a key chain while. When a K clip is missing - a shame this just makes the little lamp in conjunction with a cap with a shield to a very good head lamp! The O and T look outwardly very similar and differ only in the ribbing. T is my clear favorite.
T is the only one in a decorative box. I personally put on it because no value because I did not want to give away. K and O in Blisterrahmen with Pappumkarton.
Price: T = approx. 15.00 EUR / K = approx. 20.00 EUR / O = rd. 25.00 EUR
Accessories:
Clip: T Yes / No K / O yes
Chain with keyring / carbine: all three
Replacement O-rings: every three
Battery included: T no (bad) / K yes / O yes
Power / modes
All three are a Cree XP-G R5 LED equipped (T = "XP-G2 R5")
Firefly mode: T = 0.04 Lm (ME completely unnecessary) / K = 9 ch / O = 2.5 ch
Average mode: T = 12 Lm / K = 28 Lm / O = 20 ch
High mode: T = 120 Lm / K = 80 Lm / O = 70 ch
T and O do not have a so-called stroboscope mode (flashes), the Kraftmax comes without it.
The "light test" I have done in a darkened room, only with the naked eye. This ranges mE also because they are certainly not produced as "distance light bulb over several hundred meters."
Whether the T thereby reaches 120 Lm actually, I do not know. In fact, she was the brightest lamp of three. The lean Glühwürmchenmodus would have ThruNite can save mE, it would have been good for her, if the O about 2.5 Lm would like done. The 9 Lm K appear in contrast already relatively bright ...
My conclusion, after I know all three:
As I said, each lamp complies with what they want. Since the related materials and the LED are nearly identical, for me only one question:
Why prevail between O and T rd. EUR 10.00 price difference? that's too much, Olight.
A clear winner does not exist for me actually. Ideal would be a clone of Olight and ThruNite, the ThruNite would be the clear winner with a modification: it would have in the performance of Glühwürmchenmodus Olight she was the winner, with weak 0.04 Lm it creates the not!
Nevertheless ThruNite would be my favorite:
Pros: Non-slip ribbing, best lighting performance in high level, Favourable price
Cons: unnecessary because too weak Glühwürmchenmodus, no battery included (but is not very tragic)
Thus the ThruNite has won for me.
Of course I can now deliver not make long-term test. But I will possibly write experiences here and the reviews link among themselves.
I hope, therefore, I can contribute to a purchase decision between the three.
