The decor was very awkward for me personally. Before I got the thing using the included driver and software CD wireless capability, it has taken - and I am certainly not a beginner in the field. In each case the need to install drivers for wireless and USB-2 port, which should be clear to everyone. Speed differences between the two versions I have (unfortunately) can not be determined: Both are quite slow, if it is more than plain text. Praiseworthy: The software and drivers are nice during installation and also later updated automatically.
My hardware environment: desktop PC and Ultrabook with each MS Windows 8.1 Pro, Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 3, routers: Linksys EA6350, 16.000er DSL connection.
Direct printing from card possible - - Once set up, the device very good print, scan and copy results, the integrated SD card reader delivers appears as an external drive on your computer (for me under WLAN, the printer needs but turned against the computer be). The operation is very simple, contributes much the self-explanatory color display and the adjacent pad in. High resolution and sharp when it comes to display looks though from different ... The device has a power saving mode: After a certain time, it switches to standby and can be done by pressing the power button again to "enabled". Per downloaded ind app installed (tested with Android and "Epson iPrint" from the Google Play Store) DOES wonderfully direct printing of smartphone photos.
Printed text and images come as a surprise over sharp and true color, scanning about "Epson Scan" I as a tip would go into the settings and once away from Epson-own color profile, which is exaggerated contrast and reddish especially with yellowed originals.
Both scanning as well as printing photos or large documents processing takes but woefully long ... A three seites synopsis with three photos (about 7MB) took almost five minutes to print. When scanning is nearly Nocht frustrating, the processing of a preview image will actually exactly the same time to complete as the actual scanning. 8 scans at 300 dpi take me about 30 minutes - no matter whether via WLAN or USB.
When loading classic A4 sheets these are not automatically recognized me, it is always an acknowledgment of the paper size on the device needed.
Included are each a cartridge of four colors, although XL appears later in the settings: The cartridges are not completely filled. After expression of about 30 pages of text and three color photos of very good quality of the cartridge scharz about one-third capacity remains, the three colors are still well filled. Whether one then later buys cheaper 4-color combo pack, each itself should be left, my tip: Always have a black cartridge in reserve. Conclusion:
Very good final results for the price - no matter in what area. But cutting back in Wireless Setup and speed of the multifunction device.
