* Delivery
In addition to a CD (560MB), a complete German Quick Start Guide (8 pages) is included: good, is unfortunately no longer in strict. The CD is - apart from the actual product - a lot of "trial" software from the manufacturer CyberLink.
* Installation
The installation is easy: after starting the installation and the choice of the destination folder this is done in about 1-2 minutes. When you first start the product key is required. Then, the program checks the version level and immediately recommends downloading a "free patches" (144MB).
* User interface & Operation
The program shows a fairly clear Explorer view:
** Left a list of media library (movies, videos, photos & music), My Computer, Device, "home media" playlists
** Right a type selection, which - depending on the context Links - switches. In "Movies" about BD / DVD appears (choice of a drive), film library and Fimlinfo.
It is striking that the media library looking without prompting by local media, is very fast. Images are sorted by date (calendar view); However, it is also possible a list or folder view. If music can be sorted by type / Artist / Album or Song Name. Picture & Sound (pictures, music, media) are impeccable. Taste is the integration of "social media" (Facebook, Flickr, YouTube & Vimeo), but works flawlessly (not tried on Facebook & YouTube, rest). Is so nice that on a PC with lots of pictures, MP3s and videos the automatic search can easily take a few hours and that the media playback on the local network (FritzBox, NAS drive, etc.) is not working. In the "settings" it is possible to change the media folder. It is very well resolved that the program remembers recently opened media folder. About a "Back" arrow (to the left) may at any time be changed to the parent folder.
* Play DVDs and BluRays
On a 27 "monitor (Iiyama, Full HD resolution) with a 2.1 sound system are image and sound excellent; since there is little to complain about the DVD upscaler works very well, even older DVDs do not look grobpixelig also.. Menu Navigation (DVD / BluRays) and choice of audio language and subtitles is easy.
* Conclusion:
Very good successful media player with outstanding picture and sound quality and just a few quirks. Is now used even more than the free "VLC" (unfortunately no BluRays can ...)
