After Gameboy- / NES classic "DuckTales" Now the next Disney-hopper who got donated a HD remake. While the former was held at classically decorated 2D with slightly pimped pseudo 3D backgrounds, is Mickey's adventures in "Castle of Illusion", in fact a real retreading in absolutely excellent HD. Technically such a surprisingly well done, I would not necessarily expect from a game development from Disney. Successful animations, very pretty backgrounds full of activity, generally the authentic look cuddly Disney brand. Comparing the SNES / Megadrive original 1990s with the fresh remake, falls mainly on how much you have kept to the original terms of level structure - including the fight against the world bosses.
Even sound technology there properly what the mouse ears. A soundscape of high dynamics, the integration of today's US voice encoder for the famous cartoon mouse on the earth and the choice of classical orchestral music and authentic 16-tooting (or is it 8-bit?!). Control goes well out of hand, much could it not go wrong.
Despite the high video and sound quality is "Castle of Illusion" no deal for a long time, since only the exact same number and size of the levels assumed by the original, but have not been expanded. Connected to the difficulty very low set one arrives after less than 3 hours the credits. Too bad, because with such a magical conversion you want certainly Verbing more hours of gameplay.
Conclusion:
A revamped classic remake on a high technical level, but of very lean extent. An investment in this game I would recommend just below the 10-euro mark - if not among the here demanded 7 euros mice -, otherwise makes an early disappointment at the extremely short gameplay wide.
