Hopefully Samsung will not be influenced by this nonsense! I want to continue namely a smartphone from a practicable (!) Plastic. What good is a brushed aluminum case, what do I have to throw in a plastic bowl anyway, so it does not scratch at the first visit to the pocket. A plastic housing is, for that matter, much more gracious. But even more important: a rear panel made of plastic can be changed - and the battery including! A cell phone without being able to replace the battery? No go!
Now, however, the GALAXY S5 that I feel as absolute crowning of all Galaxys! It writes a changer (S1 -> S2 -> S3 -> S4 -> S5). No change I have repented, and the greatest joy was when changing from S4 to S5 - although here the differences externally / superficially well at first seem the least.
What is in the S5, but it has especially inside! Attention should be drawn here the first DISPLAY: Although due to the slightly larger dimensions (S4: - 4.9> S5: 5.1 inches) has a slightly lower pixel density, it gives the S5 his greatest added value in relation to the S4. Because:
1. The slightly lower pixel density is a difference which exists practically only on paper. Visible to the naked eye, this difference in use does not perceive. The S5 gives content as sharp again as the S4.
2. The S5 is Scripture even sharper and clearer again as the S4. The Reading is here a bit more fun and is even more friendly to the eyes.
3. Compared with the S5 acts of the already very good screen S4 summarizes a bit pale. The difference in color intensity and contrast VA falls from S4 and S5 probably the most eye. The Galaxy S5 is the first Galaxy at all that content on a sunny balcony still can present nearly as gaudy and legibly as in a dark apartment. If that's not even an added value!
4. The screen of the S5 is simply the best ever video I've ever seen in a phone.
The speed: I'm a fan of live backgrounds. The S5 is collected from live backgrounds as much out as with any other phone currently. This is partly due, of course, the brilliant screen, but also on the speed of 2.5 GHz quad-core processor. If not just phone and live background in the energy-saving mode, jerky as well as with the resources lastigsten graphics settings nothing. Even scrolling through the screen and menus will m. E. without "micro stuttering" instead. But as I said: Who sets the power-saving mode is then experience mild stuttering course here and there. You just can not have it all (long battery life and high-end speed).
ACCU: the difference to S4 I would describe something like this: The S5 maintains the non-sleep mode as long as the S4 in sleep mode in about. It is not a super glaring difference. But with the Samsung S5 is again a small step further when it comes to battery life. Whoever starts with a supercharged S5 in normal energy-saving mode (not ultra-energy-saving mode!) In the working day, has in normal use (check surfing in the morning break, gamble in the lunch break, throughout the day, messages and occasionally WhatsApp) at the end of the day so by 18 clock at least 60-70% battery power available. Depending on the usage I had by 18 clock already more than 75% available. Since you can not complain really.
The BLUETOOTH: Who - like me - like listening to music from the phone to the system, or other speakers via Bluetooth, will have his true joy of S5. In my bathroom I have Bluetooth speakers from Creative. If I had my S4 earlier in the living room, it came at the data / music transfer to the bathroom every now and then dropouts. Guilt was not the S4, but the rather limited range of Creative Speaker. Because with my Sony systems I had with the S4 never problems, no matter where it was in the apartment. With the S5 I have now but also no dropouts when I stream music from the S5 in the living room to the bathroom to the Creative speakers. I therefore conclude that the already excellent Bluetooth range of the S4 is again topped with the S5 a bit. So I for one am very satisfied. Can I but now finally in the bathroom enjoy my music without interruptions!
The FINGER SCANNER: Even if I do not need that thing, for me it funzt excellent.
Camera: Even the S4 shot (for a smartphone!) Stunning good pictures. The S5 replaces the digicam now finally! Clear! Those who like to shoot professional photos with correspondingly expensive lenses, for the S5 this is no substitute. But who in any case only a cheap digicam along with it and is satisfied with its quality, it can do without - the Cam in S5 enough for really great, colorful and above all clear photos from the family day out perfect! To record videos of the option in a 4K resolution to mention.
The housing: About the insane needs of many people for aluminum enclosures I have already torn up the mouth. As I said, I think the plastic casing of the Galaxy's absolutely perfect. I hope Samsung can not be swayed here. On the luxury the battery (and the phone back) to change, I could not live without anyway !!!! Switch Both cost at Samsung incidentally usually not more than 20-30 euros - with original accessories.
The chrome frame of the S5 is perfectly okay. A non-chromed plastic frame would still seem a little disdainful. But to me that's ultimately not matter anyway. For my S5 is anyway in a wonderfully pretty Belkin sleeve, the frame I see nothing at all. Also worth mentioning: I have on closer examination the impression that there are at least the frame of the home button and the camera made of real metal. I think that's very good, because it is precisely the home button, the wear is probably the biggest. Incidentally, even the glass of the camera lens probably from Gorilla Glass. I certainly can testify that I have not had a scratch on the camera lens when S4 even after 1 year of use. This is actually only possible by Gorilla Glass. In S5, a further improvement in breakage resistance version of Gorilla Glass 3 is used.
The LOOK: I like the look of the S5 exceptionally well! A little less playful and a little more grown up than the S4. The S5 in black is just black! That's the way it has to be.
Telephoning: Voice quality is - as well as with its predecessors - excellent and far better than, say, with my Siemens Gigaset home. This means that sometimes I even prefer the phone with the S5, although I could make calls via landline vain. If I hate one, it is too quiet conversation. The problem is you never have the S5. Also handsfree funzt excellent. The built-in phone speaker is m. E. even better (less bleiernd, massive in sound) than the S4. Granted, with the stereo phone speakers of HTC One he will probably not be able to compete, taking the HTC One but also in accordance with a court. And pardon - if I want to listen to music, I connect the phone anyway with better Bluetooth speakers or just headphones.
The SOFTWARE: Many complain that the S5 can not be rooted, without losing its guarantee. I think that's not a serious shortcoming, and the many "average Joe mobile users" it will go like there. The various Launcher in Play Store (I only say: NOVA LAUNCHER !!!) offer orient the Android user interface completely according to their own needs and the non-rooted phone enough opportunities. Even today's antivirus software do not need root phone more to run, for example a remote deletion of data. For new menu layout I can only say: I like it! In particular, the new "Quick Setup" menu at the top I find very great, in which you can record all of the settings that appear important to you.
Expanding: The S5 can be expanded with rich 128GB memory with no problem via Sandisk Micro SD. In the camera settings you can choose to transfer all photos to be stored on the external SD card. The new bundled File Explorer when S5 also convinces and makes the popular (paid) Solid Explorer superfluous. It is clearer than the S4 and finally there are directly in the first surface a button on the external Micro SD card.
What Samsung can not, but Google probably already: Since Android 4.4.2 non-system apps can (actually all apps that you additionally from the Play Store on your mobile phone charges) no longer at will on the Micro SD card access. With the Solid Explorer you can z. B. Delete any more data from the external micro SD that goes only to the System File Explorer. Also, apps can not install automatically on the micro SD card. However, one can determine the Application Manager, that part of the data of this app will be moved to the external micro SD card to install an app. (WARNING: but you should not do with apps, live backgrounds, icon packs, and widgets, to be loaded directly from the Systmstart!) In this way, I have shoveled me at least 1.5 GB of internal memory.
In my S5 with 16 GB of internal memory and 128 GB micro SD occupancy now look like this: 80 GB music, 2GB photos and some of the data of all installed apps on the external Micro-SD. In the internal memory more than a dozen Live Wallpapers, countless apps and 16 games installed (including Bard Tales, the almost 4 GB is with me) and yet I still have 2GB of internal memory and 30 GB external memory free. Since I already save photos directly on the external Micro SD, so p is absolute peace of mind i. Given memory.
The Shadow: It strikes me as a not much. I really fell in love a little bit in the S5 and am (also i. S. of case) as satisfied as yet with any Galaxy in this way before. The dust and water resistance would in my opinion not have to be time. Because the only thing I miss something in my S5, a USB charging socket is WITHOUT safety cover ...;)
