This TV was purchased as a second TV. It is watched at a distance of only about 1m (poor eyesight). That goes smoothly! A brand of another manufacturer was returned. The reason was a miserable image, which was provably caused by a substandard built receiver. Since I have a 42-inch TV from Philips (2 years old) best experiences I have now re-elected Philips also here. I am absolutely satisfied after a few days and numerous tests. But I make no secret that the response to the remote control commands is also very slow. I can live with it, for us the picture (really great) and the ports on the photo and movie discs as well as Smart TV (incredibly many apps) are much more important. Due to the longer switching one star to underline would be unfair, so I give full marks. In conclusion: The (two-sided here) Ambilight is always controversial in reviews. Some do not want it, others do not want to miss. I find it very pleasant, especially if the room is dark. And ... the attitude that the Ambilight short time after turning it afterglow (leaving room with no light to make) is a nice and useful idea.
