I have found no disconnections, despite older firmware (default setting). Configuration of the router is very easy. Unfortunately, here, but the setting for professionals rather limited (eg fixed IP assignment, etc.), but for normal users quite sufficient. The router should also have a firewall. This I have tested. In direct comparison with my old Siemens Gigaset SX553 WLAN firewall is worse. There are more attacks by left than with the Siemens unit.
As it's not in the Speedport can not specify everything that is to be protected by the firewall, is tinkering here announced. One possibility is to disable the vulnerable ports. This is certainly not easy for beginners.
Furthermore, I noticed that the speed Internet subjectively slower. The Speedport always produces a slower connection (DSL 14000) to the Internet, as the Gigaset (full DSL 16000). The Speedport is slightly slower than the Siemens device, it fought the Siemens device with disconnects. Even the wireless from the Speedport to my laptop seems to me support. Some other users in the network to report the same.
The W701V is currently eh only intended as a temporary solution until I find another (better) router. Because of this, however, works well, it will always remain an "emergency hardware". All in One is the Speedport OK. I would buy me this is not right, but as I said, it was a free bonus. 4 stars ...
