As yet were no tests and customer reviews, I bought the monitor blind. The first impression after unpacking was quite good:
- It is included everything necessary
- Overall, I find the monitor well finished
- He stands firmly on the table
- He has all the necessary functions; rotatable and tiltable, height adjustment, even pivot. USB hub is tasächlich the only thing missing compared to other (then but more expensive) models
- Glossy edge would not need it, but also does not bother me very
After connecting and turning came but unfortunately equally disappointing. Because the monitor showed a very uneven brightness curve; the corners were brighter, which is far toward the center draws (so he had halos from the corners out). And he was right on top of the brightest, right down even to light, bottom left, it could still easily see only the upper left corner it was really black and OK. Whether the IPS-Glow or backlight bleeding is now, but I can not say.
Now I did not want to prematurely react, and set the monitor once a little one. And since you can run with him quite brightness 0 (even when the sun shines into the room, my brightness reaches 10), is relativized the problem somewhat; it no longer falls into the eye (only if you look closely, and then look for, you can see it in the dark scenarios still).
So I tested the monitor, and was pleased with everything else. He showed no dead pixels, has beautiful colors, is for me as a casual and fast enough (I noticed no great stuttering, etc., and when I push the rather old on my CPU, the kämft with high resolution), and the Low-Blue -Light function I like to use for office work and surfing. Only appeared in this time then the already mentioned some comic by other operation of the rear buttons ...
But I just wanted to know if these uneven illumination occurs only in my model, or whether it affects the whole series. So I returned the monitor (production June 2014) after 3 weeks, and ordered a new (production Aug. 2014). However, this know exactly the same characteristics ...
So my conclusion:
I am excited about the WQHD resolution and the size of the monitor, and impressed by the colors and sharpness. Both monitors had no defective pixels, the picture quality is great, the workmanship is good, the offered equipment (resolution, ergonomic features, etc.) is great, but the illumination is not uniform. But I use the monitor only privately, and not for professional applications. And because of this that bothers me illumination error is no longer great. That's why I'm the second (which I now have 4 weeks) notice,; Another exchange promises no improvement anyway.
So who can live with the non-uniform illumination, get for 390, - Euro currently nowhere Monitor. But who is fussy and disrupts it (because he looks a lot of dark movies or similar), or better needs (eg due to professional demands), who has to look elsewhere, and then also quickly lands above 500, - Euro.
And so come 3 stars together: While there are better, but overall, the Monitor OK, and the price is currently unbeatable for this size and resolution. There are departures but because the coverage is very uneven, and because of the comical control buttons.
