Written by Alexandre Lelaumier (according to an article of humanity on the publisher's website) that starts in the "skin" of an algorithm working in the financial markets, this little book is exciting as it shows us an unknown world which nevertheless has a fundamental importance in our lives: The scholarship. The author knows his subject admirably that staggering of truffle anecdotes about "heroes" (men and algorithms) of this seizure of power machinery on human traders while placing it in a historical perspective (and sociological) . We learn a lot of information and better understand the information that had few breakthroughs in the mainstream press: The famous flash crash of 6 May 2010 when the Dow lost 9% in 10 minutes !, the Goldman-Sachs, the high frequency trading ...
The shape that oscillates between the scientific article, thrillers and anticipation narrative makes pleasant reading (which saw the subject was not won).
In short a great success and an important book. (The only downside, if sources such as the review of high-frequency trading (it exists!) Are cited in the text, historical sources do not.)
