Have this SSD built into my MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) (thereby replacing the old 500 GB hard drive, and not the SuperDrive). The Mac is now much "snappier" than before, the transfer rates are not as "dramatic" fast as one might expect, since the SATA bus only 3Gb / s power (and therefore the achievable transfer rates limited). The actually achieved transfer rates when reading / writing are then "only" about 250/230 MB / s. However, In addition the dramatically smaller latency SSD compared to the magnetic disk, which then makes the Mac easy considerably "responsive".
The installation of this Mac model was extremely easy, about 10 minutes. Time. See instructions at iFixIt.
