Pana KX-TU327EXBE vs. Doro 612

Panasonic KX-TU327EXBE seniors phone (2.5mm jack, microUSB) (Electronics)

Customer Review

CONCLUSION:
Unfortunately, none of them is thoroughly recommended. Both have their advantages and (too many) disadvantages. One has to set its own priorities and select the effect. For both 3 points, lt. Amazon an "Okay / OK" means.
However, there is probably no better elderly telephony, or does anyone know of?

Preliminary note:
This list is not complete. It deals with the important points for me. The list is organized not by priority.

* Quality / feel / look *
Short: The Doro somehow makes a better impression, but the Pana to be shockproof, and also rattles nothing. Shockproof is advantageous. The Pana has a little square and is expected, depending on hand size better in the hand.

* Volume and ring tones *
Doro: Doro can be very loud and wake ringing, a really low sound is not adjustable. And it offers the diverse ringtones. The sound is clear, to name rather hard. My ringtones are not possible. And unfortunately, you can not assign a contact also from the appealing tones. I can not understand today.
Pana: The Pana is also very noisy, but my feeling is a little Tick quieter. While there are 25 ring tones, but the sound all the same somehow electronically mau. My sounds are not possible. Contact assignment: Yes.

In normal and mittellautem area both do nothing. With the blade tones of Pana you can (also) live. But when it comes to the street (tram noise, etc.) is Doro something but, at an advantage. And what phone / operator who can ring before the AB answers it for a minute? Most probably after 20 seconds concluded 30 seconds before luxury. Mir is too little. Who does not hear so well, is probably better off with the Doro.

Changing the ringer volume (and incidentally also the call type) is the Doro agony, really a pain. An absurdity! In Pana does that - if necessary - on the sound and silent key and a private directly accessible menu item. What is Doro doing - or not - has thought?

* Display / Screen *
In short, I could read both in bright daylight. Both have no icon for Homezone (tested with O2 Homezone) and show them not lyrically at. I do not understand.

* Handset / hearing aid / microphone filters *
Unfortunately I could not make any relevant tests. Perhaps one can say that Doro / According to the (unpleasant) shrill tends at audio device has means, which may indeed be quite help but verifiable in a noisy environment, affects normal rather quiet. The Pana can be set to sound good. I do not know, is unfortunately only show the everyday use.
Supplement v. 05.05.2013
In the Paxis: Hearing (not ringing) the Doro is unpleasant for me and to be achieved volume keeps not what one actually expects. In addition, the conversion of Doro "Audio device" during a telephone call is impractical. The Pana is as at least as loud and enjoyable for me. Tried hearing aids.
- Free Speech
Supplement v. 02.05.2013
In practice: The simple Doro-handsfree-off could be really good if Doro duplex (both can talk) would dominate. But that is not the case and if you are not careful, there is chopped conversations. Duplex is standard, I can not understand that, actually, the function is therefore only very limited use.
Unfortunately, I no longer know how Pana it handles, but worse it can (up to the more clicks to reach the function) is not.

Profiles:
Doro: In Lautlosprofil everything is quiet (except for alarm clock / date!), No Vibra. There is a call display.
Pana: Pana In Lautlosprofil automatically switches everything (including alarm clock / date!) To Vibra and it flashes. The ringing can be in General mode completely off, then all is quiet.

Unfortunately, both have only the two profiles. I find this Pana handle extremely convenient.

* Color *
Doro: Doro is available in different colors, which Lettering legibility differ in daylight as well as in the dark from one another. You have to choose because even, for example, I find that the eggplant in the dark is best to read, in the light, however - depending on the specific ambient light - is the white-readable.
Pana: A color, everything is okay, light and dark.

* Visual indicator (reputation, mail, SMS) *
Doro: Yes, probably blink until manually switched off.
Pana: Yes, unfortunately only flashes 12h.
Supplement v. 02.05.2013
In practice: The Doro-LED is recessed and flickers briefly, that the viewing angle is very low and the light scattering width is minimal. In practice, this means in particular for visually impaired / weakened people that one can easily overlook the flashing. That's happened to me, you have to be very straight look from above on your mobile phone to mitzubekommen blinking. The Pana is better here in both disciplines, but unfortunately lights up only 12h.

Here you have to wonder exactly what you need. When Pana you have to open the door in order not to miss any input after 12h. I think that's not good.

* SMS *
Doro: Doro has an OCR function, generally well known as T9. This works well. The SMS menu can be reached via a direct key. Man saves here but just a click against the Pana. The disadvantage of Doro is that you can not abspeichen SMS for recycling, eg something like "Go now going on.".
Pana: The Pana can save SMS for reuse, but has no T9 function.

Who writes a lot of different SMS, is probably a little better served by Doro. As templates you can possibly send SMS itself and can then re-use from the inbox out. Extremely complicated, but should go.

* Keyboard *
Doro: There are 5 "front operation buttons" (+ camera), the Left and Right Menu buttons are advised very small, due to the situation still good to use. The side buttons could auseinandestehen a little further, it is often a blind or caught the wrong. The significance of the buttons make the Doro the slightly better impression, but that is really only show a long-term test.
Pana: Pana of the keys are labeled bigger and bigger. There are only 3 "front control buttons", Right, Left and rocker. Apart from reaching the hands-free function (! Doro quasi has a dedicated button for fine), but I see no disadvantage in this concept; I liked the big only 3 buttons even better. Side keys okay.

* Font size *
Doro: Doro When my treadmill display is too slow, so you are very inclined at Doro to use the smallest font. The change of the font size is very awkward about the setup! Setting is once and has to live with it, so to speak.
Pana: The Pana has the special feature that can be set using the volume buttons, the font size at any time. So you can quickly switch between adults and children. The treadmill display is practical. That's just: Class!

Who Needs Big writings or often back and forth on, lives with Pana clearly better, clearly.

* Alarm Clock *
Doro: The alarm goes every 9 minutes for 1 minute. The alarm goes min. 30min (not gestest, probably 90min) and Snooze ends after 90 minutes. It's good.
Pana: The alarm goes for 30 seconds every 5 minutes up to 15 minutes, regardless of whether leave Snooze or finish. This is something little, but you can set up to 5 alarm times and should not work so well.
In Silent mode is automatically switched to Vibra, no matter what is set in the general mode.

The volume of both depends somehow on the ringer volume, is this not the same and there is not really quiet. The Doro Alarm Clock is in an extreme case more audible.

Both not remember a missed alarm.

The problem I see is that alarm / reminder / appointment Doro losheulen even in silent mode. A really soft sound or the automatic switching on only Vibra is Doro impossible. So who has set to silent mode and turn off eg forgets an appointment (which is also not optically preannounced in the display), can be quite a sweat when you start then. Well, may well be that others will want exactly that.

* Computer *
Doro: Yes.
Pana No.

* Flashlight *
Doro: Yes.
Pana: Yes, and it is useful. Especially when you look bad, you sometimes need to read also the day a little more ambient light (eg in the supermarket), the flashlight can help if necessary.

* * Kamara
Doro: Yes, but: There seems to be no autofocus, macro and there is not even. And above all, if you look at the picture later, you can not zoom in / zoom it. So if I do a ablichte info and then would have to enlarge while viewing, to be able to read for example a phone number, you can not. Yes, one can thus take pictures of people and assign the phone book as an image. Flash light and also not weak.
Pana No.

I think the camera is a mere toy.

* Calendar / reminder / appointment *
In short, the Doro calendar is better in its functions. With a small disadvantage: it shows the week number to. And but a big disadvantage: it always rings. See the point radios.

Both indicate any missed deadline, both outside and show on the display not to!

You have to decide how you look at Doro's bell concept, it fits, Doro is better.

* Speed Dial / Speed Dial *
Doro: For fast access (the 3 top buttons) displays the number before dialing or by directly elected. With Speed Dial (the numeric keypad) will be dialed immediately without displaying the numbers in advance.
Pana: For fast access (the 3 top buttons) displays the number before dialing or by directly elected. With Speed Dial (the numeric keypad) is shown a list of speed dial numbers and you have to press again to select to select.

A matter of taste, but since three keys ere choose immediately and I could really remember the assignment of the shortcut me anyway never ...

* Voice Recorder *
Doro: Yes, going through undelivered MMS cumbersome possible. Playback volume is extremely low, audible on the street only at the ear.
Pana: Yes, and a separate key for audible and playback.

I find it handy when times may soon notice some by voice, or calls when a someone an address or tel. And it can be recorded, played back for more. For others, the gimmick may be.

* Emergency Button *
Doro: You can force the entry of a "0" in response to a call.
Pana: bell well for 20 seconds if an answering machine answers it therefore beforehand ...

Well, such a thing if the emergency really works with the "0", somehow I doubt that the other party must always remember, that also Notservicedienste with temporary workers, etc.! Most like rather long response times AB, ie 30 seconds and more, I guess, the set "0" can also be dangerous because of the call is then possibly gone. Important: Both lack the GPS feature. (Pana has a cell phone with GPS, but without optical reputation-miss-flashing indicator). I have since not all phones genung mature, sending the GPS data via SMS has been a sensible thing.

* Easy to use *
With operating instructions which is always such a thing. You can also only be. Best, you can do without.

Doro: We can do without. It's all very nice and colorful.
Pana: Mnn can do without.

I find that the Pana leads very logically and quickly safely through all the functions. The menu is in my opinion even markedly better than Doro! But probably a matter of taste.

* Automatic redial *
Doro: None. How can that be?
Pana: No problem.

A real important absolute blunder of Doro, especially for the elderly.

* Number announcement *
Doro: Yes
Yes, when you dial (good) and ringing, but says no names.

Since I still had just come clear with the key and the normal font size of Doro currently, my focus is different. Otherwise it would Pana. I like the life-flashing indicator of Doro and this is the noise more audible to me. I opted for eggplant. What good is a flashlight and better in the total use of the Pana, if I do not hear the phone in an emergency?

Who looks bad - can do without the continuous flashing - and get along with the ringing of Pana, should look at this in any case, most likely, it is then the better choice.

Supplement v. 02.05.2013
In practice, see supplements above, the Doro could not say, and I changed it sends. The Super-ringing and the T9 function can not compensate for all the shortcomings in relation to the Pana for me. I have to buy a "seniors' cell phone moved to" Tomorrow ", might come so new models. If I absolutely need a, I would buy the Pana.

Who can do without the flash, should once the Pana Panasonic KX-TU328EXBE Easy Use Mobile clamshell phone (6.1 cm (2.4 inch) display) look black, has lt. Description GPS.

An appeal to the conclusion: If anyone rated this post with "non-vote", let him / her but please state the reasons in a comment to explain. It's hard and it should be better.
