I think too: How to channel this pervasive mental (Paperback)

Customer Review

This book is written by Christel Petitcollin, "board and trainer in personal development and communication" as we learn the back cover. The main theory of the author from a survey conducted on the brain in the 70s in England, saying there would be among the world's population 15 to 30% of neuro-handers and 70 to 85% of neuro-left (also called normopensants). Either. This division seems mechanical and restrictive: we all have (fortunately) bridges between the two hemispheres of the brain.

This leaves very skeptical is that it says the neuro-handers are gifted who are unaware. She seems confused mental surefficicience (surmentalisation) and giftedness (Gifted). According to the literature and scientific studies published on giftedness in the West for forty years and until recently, there are only 2% to 3% of people who have the characteristics of gifted people say. This information can be easily found on the internet or in other works: those of Kermadec Monique Jeanne Siaud-Facchin, Arielle Adda, Jean-Charles Terrassier Cecile Bost, Hervé Magnin, Fabrice Bak ... to name a few .

But there is worse from my point of view: the author praises the 15 to 30% of neuro-handers, "big bisounours thirsty of love that attract narcissistic pervert" and should recognize their "intellectual superiority" on the rest of the population. She openly denigrates 70 to 85% of neuro-count that left the world population, and subjected them to ostracism in order. Literally, she said that these people are "slow, hollow, lazy, without empathy, stupid, individualists and insensitive". To illustrate her point, she gave the example of the "employee unions supermarkets and airports baggage check." Nice for them !!

These peremptory assertions in a popular book, between "top people" and "inferior people" seem discriminatory, simplistic and dogmatic, so dangerous; they are reminiscent of a certain period of 1939 when a superior race was valued at the expense of another.

There certainly was in this book one side "dressing", "security blanket", soothing, for those who think too much, but it can not compensate the ignominy above. The danger would be lulled by sweet words and indirectly condone outrageous about this item. It's worth reading the book instead of hypersensitivity Elaine Aaron, who also speaks of the surmentalisation ("Better know hypersensitivity") or the books of Beatrice Milletre.

There are other huge scientific approximations (eg, according to the author, 15 to 30% of the world population would synaesthete, or after the site of the University of Geneva, there are only 0.05%) or psychological (according to C. Petitcollin, "The quadrants and safe fathers prevent their child from becoming surefficient because their right brain is more dominant" Waaa ... What reasoning!).

Ms. Petitcollin does not cite its sources as and except his own works. The book is studded typing and spelling mistakes; there is also some surprising profane language and structure errors between chapters.

In conclusion it is therefore regrettable that the author does not associate neuro-handers and gifted, and she stigmatizes normal-thinking versus neuro-handers. For this book could be interesting for all mental surefficients, those who think too much. Caution, however, there is little practical paths and the book does not really help unless think and channel his mind, contrary to the promise of the title. We can still read it, if only for the cocooning effect to feel included in his mental surefficience while remaining vigilant about other aspects.
