TomTom GO 6000 Europe navigation system (15 cm (6 inches) touch screen, 8GB of internal memory, QuickGPSfix, TomTom Lifetime Traffic & Maps) (Electronics)
As a replacement for my defective Tomom GO 740 I bought the GO 6000. My conclusion: I would not do it again. Arguments balance: (+) Good location (+) Very good jam information (+) Fast route calculation (-) Announcements and advertisements on highways, especially in highway cruising inaccurate, unclear and partly erroneous.. I have usually tap the screen, so that the lane disappears, and then zoom out from the map, so I know the highway interchange, where I should go. (-) Function avoid roadblock missing if it does not go on so for any reason (construction site, blocking, etc.), only helps to drive on suspicion in the right direction until the Navi gives up to have the original route. (-) There is no selection of different routes. (-) The compass (which is north) is almost abolished. There is now a small arrow, but its orientation is difficult to see and the mirrored (!) Works. That is, when he shows up is forward north. He points to the left, the right is the north. (-) The coupling with my computer at home is not working; Unfortunately, the support was not helpful. I pair the Navi now as a workaround with my little laptop. Reason remains unclear. (-) There is only a list of favorites; it is no longer possible, many own addresses as POIs sorted save. (-) One can learn only very inconvenient while driving that disturbances on the route that (the command traffic incidents aloud) is missing. So I see, for example, only one exclamation mark on the display, are there but now objects on the road, a wrong-way driver, and where exactly is it? (-) On the right side above the other pointed the traffic problems. The label of this bubble icons flashing about in seconds rythm between Symbol and duration of the disruption and fro. Should I seriously rigid two seconds while driving to the Navi, so I can collect this information? (-) The automatic zoom / screen capture work against the 740 significantly worse; I am constantly while driving about to zoom in or out. (-) POIs can not be displayed while navigating the map (where there what to eat, where should I refuel where are parking garages). (-) The blocking of Alpine passes that are somewhat removed, does not seem to influence the route. So you can not enter the goal, but the next pass open and navigate further from there. (-) I lack compared to the 740 the speakerphone for the cell phone and the voice input (-) Brightness is controlled by time Conclusion: not again, but I will live with this first purchase.
