For more than 4 years I use eneloop's a household. In addition to the first UTGA's (2nd generation) can be found primarily battery's 3rd generation (UTGB) in my possession. In total, there are now more than 60 batteries of the sizes AA and AAA. To date not a single battery has failed. By comparison, of 8 LSD-batteries by "Tronik" live exactly yet 2 and these bring instead of the specified 2100 mAh only around 1650 mAh - and after 3 years. Even the oldest of my eneloop's practically still the full capacity of 1900 mAh (AA). Measurements with a BC700 returned values to 1820 mAh, which comes very close to the original 1980 mAh. Everything with changing loads - and more from the console controller, via radio remote control until rarely used children's toys. The current quality has fully convinced me and I will go and buy anything else. Somehow, there are never enough of the batteries in the household, which is why I have now resorted to the 4th generation. The UTGB's would have given me, but the rates differed barely. Lt. Manufacturers have been further optimized this in the field of charging cycles and the self-discharge. According to data sheets, the current batteries are after one year 90% of the charged capacity have (UTGB: 85%) and 2,100 cycles survive (UTGB: 1800). Everything at a very high level and I'll have a hard time, these values ever debug. Further optimization - at least yoy. my previous existence - is the capacity in the delivery state. The previous record was in my 1980 mAh (AA). The 8 new Panasonic's had across the board 2050-2080 mAh. When unloading a lot to me that the new generation of the tension much longer in the range of 1.25V held. In direct comparison with two about 1 year old UTGB's the difference was about 35 minutes (350mA discharge to drop below 1.2V). How does that now developed, of course, I can not say - but I like the prelude). From my perspective, the improvements are good, but negligible for many users. If the price difference is manageable (for me it was 90ct / 4-Pack) I would buy the new ones. Should the difference be greater, the UTGB's are definitely the right choice. From me there is a definite buy recommendation - for both generations.
