The operating modes are now set on the firmware. Only a very long research on the Asus homepage could provide reasonably clear. Anyone with network settings should unfamiliar stay away from this unit. Since Asus has not covered itself with glory. Ansonten makes the router (access point) that what he should.
With an Acer laptop with 300 MBit WLAN card only a 150 Mbit connection was feasible. A 150 MBit WLAN stick from Logilink brought a 72 Mbit connection to conditions. But this only with the original Logilink software. With Windows board means there were only 54 Mbps connections.
The facility has attracted but then 2 hours. Since I have every day to do with networks and their applications, I was surprised by the heavy configurability of the device yet.
On 18/12/2013 I had ordered the same router again. Due to the very stable wireless access, I wanted to set up a second AP. I had but then set up the device as a router in conjunction with a DSL modem Congstar. Access via Telekom DSL works fine. DDNS via the ASUS account is also not a problem. After a trouble-free firmware update I can only recommend the device. It reveals itself not by itself, but is very stable in the compounds. I will therefore have to buy myself a third device for another AP. If you know the device will take to set up the router or AP at most 2 minutes. It would be very nice if the manufacturer DDNS account added to a custom setting. Except for the ASUS DDNS account the predefined providers are all liable to pay.
