For years I wanted to digitalize my slide collection and had already begun with a not exactly cheap (500 euros) slide scanner, but that bothered me the speed and the file size per slide in Tiff format and associated limitations when editing. Combining ES-1, BR-5 with my AF Micro Nikkor 60mm 1: 2,8D, which for many years to keep me faithful service and a D800 mounted on a dehydrator Repro Stand H75 with appropriate lighting of dried 32W energy saving light with 5500 Kelvin , connected to my computer on which the freeware "digicam control" is installed was for me then the ideal composition, so I had photographed about 5000 slides within a few days in the RAW format. The individual results are impressive, even underexposed or oversubscribed Dias I could edit on bracketing and HDR program to great results and in a relatively short time! That would never have succeeded me with a Scaner! The first experiments with negatives are very promising, this I have still the film holder 6507 by Emperor risen slightly improved, plus there is but a separate review. Besides the D800 I have done some tests with the D300 and these results were absolutely satisfactory, but the slides will not be displayed completely by the Crop factor, which can be corrected by an additional ring but Nikon. Would do it again any time so!
