I ordered the bag for my Surface Pro 3 and it fits exactly into the base (incl. Type Cover keyboard).
In the height of the main subject is still room for notepad or the like (the Surface's not as thick).
In the front pockets, the power supply, adapter for screen and LAN cables fit into it.
The workmanship is good, bad smells I could not find.

For my purposes, the bag is top.
