The sordid startup book made me fear for a moment a thriller where murders and gruesome discoveries would succeed to its conclusion when the culprit is identified, all without great originality. In fact it is not: there is a true story, well built and fueled by auxquelle police investigation involved the main character in spite of him because of his past (which is gradually revealed). The frame (an English village) is interesting, one discovers the profound England, a rural area closed to foreigners' town, with its leaders, deeply rooted in tradition, where everyone cotoie. As in any good thriller twists abound. The author, a journalist specializing in police investigations, uses his knowledge in the field of forensic medicine to give us an impressive description of the decomposition of corpses, giving a scientific and realistic basis to events. Only downside: the sentimental relationship of the main character is too cliché, without interest. A good time to relax anyway.
