Aesthetic side, the key to Intenso lack of modernity and strongly reminds me of my first USB key that was done in the 256 MB (both say that it is getting old). The thick side, coarse lines, the quality of plastic, frosted: there are many (much) better now ... As for dimensions, again, we've seen better, and while I do not appreciate necessarily too small keys, it can be said that the key to Intenso is thicker and longer than most of its competitors.
As for the strength of the hull, I prefer to remain cautious, however, this key seems a little fragile. In any case, we feel clearly the plastic move under finger pressure, which is not the case with other key I possess. However, a certain elasticity can, however, improve the resistance of the object ... To see with use. The cap is removed too easily for my taste and I think it can be quickly lost.
Now to the technical side, with two small tests on three key: Intenso 8GB key, a key EMTEC 8GB (previous version of Emtec - C400 - 2.00 USB Flash drive - 8 GB) and a key "gift Company ยป2GB. Note that for every test I realized and I have three measurements averaged to ensure reproducibility of the results. Similarly, each test took place on blank keys and under the same conditions.
First test: the write speed. I transferred from my hard disk to a USB key 30 239 MB PDF file and I measured transfer time.
- Key EMTEC 8GB: 3.5 s
- Drive 8GB Intenso: 9.0 s
- Key "gift" 2GB: 10.4 s
(Calculating the transfer rate does not necessarily correspond to that indicated by the supplier, which can be explained by the conditions and methods of various measures, however, the comparison between each key remains correct, since the measurement conditions are identical).
Second test: the transfer speed. I transferred from a key file 156 278 MB to my hard drive and I measured transfer time.
- Key EMTEC 8GB: 6.8 s
- Drive 8GB Intenso: 13.0 s
- Key "gift" 2GB: 11.4 s
The measurement results are not really in favor of the Intenso key that, ultimately, is more of a simple key 'gift' rather than a key marketed by a big name backup media.
Last test performed: record and playback directly on a TV box to a TV show. The result is clear: the issue is constantly interrupted by long gels of the image. So we will ban this use for Intenso key.
In conclusion, it is certainly a key that allows you to save and transfer data, but the aesthetics and size take us a few years back and whose technical performance, if they are correct, are far 'match the canons of the market. For a little less than one euro more, we prefer the Emtec - C400 - 2.00 USB Flash drive - 8 GB ...
