The first trip: a disappointment. The light box is indeed much wider, which provides an advantage in curves. This is at the expense of the illuminance. Only a relatively small spot is beautiful brightly lit, but unfavorably located at the front edge of the light field. It interferes with the inhomogeneous distribution of light: There are three sharply from each other defined areas of different brightness: the bright spot, the alignment and the close-range illumination.
In the photos, the light distribution of Cyo T and the premium can be seen on a wall. Both pictures were taken with a uniform exposure time + panel. On the road, the distribution is stretched according to the length. One can clearly see that the light field of Cyo T is much more homogeneous than the Premium version. In addition, the brightly lit area is much larger. Nearly all of the light field is perceived in practice as very bright.
Annoying are the false claims on the manufacturer's website and on the packaging. There is equally clearly suggested in three places that the light field is illuminated very large with 80 Lux. In the largest area but it is much darker than the classic Cyo T, specified with up to 60 Lux. In addition, the photos on the website look generally brighter than in reality. Here probably was hurried along with the exposure time slightly. Packaging of Premium adorn alleged very good test judgments, but other versions of Cyo apply. Such a thing would have B & M but really not necessary.
The Cyo Premium has the same weaknesses as the mechanical Cyo T. The too short holder complicates installation and operation. The windscreen is much at the mercy of the front wheel whirled dirt (water). Some V-Brakes fit just below the headlights. The cabling is fiddly, and the installation of the enclosed Abeckung is not even mentioned in the tiny printed installation instructions. The switch snaps imprecise to center and is often too easy. The daytime running lights switch position at night, I have never used. In this respect, one could simplify the operating concept (Off / Auto) and thus solve the problem switch.
A total of three stars, a deduction for false advertising claims and a star less because of mechanical defects. Who drives much curvy stretches or changes from a bad headlight, here maybe the right product. Switching from classical Cyo T who expect an even brighter light box will be disappointed.
Update 23:12:14: I have uploaded the pictures mentioned in the text. But they were not published by Amazon.
