The pack includes a packaging box, the box with the Intenso hard drive, a USB Y-cable (Y-USB) and a leaflet in all languages. No supplied software or installation CD.
In my case, the supplied hard drive Hitachi Travelstar 5K750 is a HTS547550A9E384 model with 8MB cache, 500GB size to the standard SATA II controller with Oxford brand.
This box connects to 1 or 2 USB ports (power supplied from a single USB port is insufficient). USB Y-cable is 50 cm, the cable industry under (binder 2nd connector) measures 16 cm. If you need to power the hard drive via two USB ports (common with portable ordis), the second connector must be close to the first.
The hard disk is automatically recognized by the system (Plug and Play) compatible with XP, Vista, Windows 7 (Windows 8 and future), Mac OS X and Linux 2.4.x 10
The enclosure protection is basic and I advise you to be careful to avoid high falls (the purchase of a protective shell and make regular backups on other media are highly recommended). It is very quiet even though the term when the scratching of read / write heads. It heats up very little compared to my old external hard drive La Cie 320GB Mobile.
The green LED stays on when the hard drive is connected and flashes during access of the disc.
I am very satisfied with this hard drive is not fading. I recommend to the price / quality ratio and high performance even if it is preferable in view of the latest technologies to turn to a USB3 model faster if you have a recent computer or compatible configuration.
