It's always surprising to me how much PC gamers rely on power supplies with insane watt figures.
Since it is a bit strange when you looked at "only" a 450 watt power supply orders for a reasonably modern PC.
For me, this 450Watt PSU normally now supplies a current for testing purposes but not overclocked i5-3570K, given 16GB Kingston RAM and two R9270X graphics cards from Asus running in SLI. The rest of the hardware is more power efficient, and therefore not worth mentioning.
After a 18-hour Prime95 stress test and the installation of a total of 8 case fans (6x120mm, 2x140mm) and a Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E CPU fan, this system is not silent but very quiet and stable. Even under full load at BF 4 with 64 and more players on my system Ultra remains stable with this power supply.
Some hobbyists would recommend me for the same system a 750Watt power supply or higher.
The power supply itself is whisper quiet with me even though I have read reports regarding a high frequency sound that does not occur to me. Generally easy to say that you should not be blinded by cheap power supply providers with high wattages. The power supply provides a lot of backups (though not all) which is also being damaged in the event of a defect in the power supply to protect the rest of the hardware front. Anyone who has seen which is a cheap power supply grills one the board and the memory disabused since replaced this damage a nobody to the most short warranty of only two years. Outstanding evaluate are also the five years warranty here.
Basically, this power supply a system with up to 600Watt supply problems. When ordering you have to just be careful that there are two versions of this power supply. The second version with a (HX) in the article description was quite clear to me discouraged. That which naturally acts as a deterrent is the price at which I had only nibble.
A long-term test I can not currently offer. Since you know (or not) the over the years has a power supply, a power loss of often up to 30%, it remains to be seen whether this power supply in a few years is still able to supply this system. In Super Flower starts from 5% performance degradation per year.
In conclusion, I would say that a power supply is probably the most underrated component in the PC. Well in addition to a sound card possibly :) Who saves the power supply saves in the wrong place. This is not to be necessarily a buy rating for Super Flower but generally for supplier of high quality power supplies with quality components. And I must say that I had no problems with cheap power supplies as LC-Power up on once. But this one time cost me 400th
