In this fourth installment of the Terminator series, I'm undecided.
Yes, it's time to shift the story in the aftermath of the Judgment Day. I like that. And the implementation of, the mood, the destruction - the ambience in general - I find very well taken. The action scenes are also something managed by and worth seeing: really good! Finally, define many consecutive, uninterrupted even action scenes, so that you barely have time to breathe, a terminator. All this I find successful and a terminator value.
But the story I know somehow not really begin what.
The story is pretty thin. And then there is the top of that still this Terminator hybrid, which I know personally to begin absolutely nothing. Somehow does not fit the so. SkyNet is technologically from history not ready to make advanced terminators. The T800 are currently in volume production. So what is the Terminator hybrid? As he brings the story? What he brings to the story in the long term? Why bother? As I said, the story is already somewhat thin, since such questions one should really ask not. It then acts quickly contrived - and frankly, it does also in fact.
So I will not say that the film is bad. It's a good juxtaposition effect full action scenes and in the film is better than many other action flick. Boring the film certainly is not.
And yet, to me that certain something, which has identified the first two terminators is missing. Somehow this fourth part is here simply not something special, as were the first two.
Now let's say, this fourth part here is to build a bridge for the fifth and possibly even the sixth part. Then you can already see a little, that the story is not quite what you'd expect from a Terminator. Finally, one would have in the subsequent parts or still time to complete the story and link any loose ends.
But when the time comes I can give no more than three stars the film unfortunately. It is and will remain an ordinary thoroughly SF action movie. For this, however, that there should be a Terminator, he just does not go up to the bar. The first two have raised the bar simply set too high for an ordinary SF action movie could come close since.
But if one or two more movies to follow, which then completes the whole story and round (as at the time the Matrix trilogy), then I will correct my review of this fourth part here upwards. Finally, it is legitimate to be a pioneer. Well, we hope that this will be the.
